Is there anything wrong with getting sentimental with a friend and telling them how you feel about them when giving thanks on Thanksgiving?

So someone I went to high school with reconnect with me on social media. We were good buddies in high school but life pulled us in different directions once we got out. Well we connected on social media for the first time in 15 years just over a week ago. I care about her as a person and I thought about taking a pic and sending to her the note she left for me in my senior year yearbook, tell her I’m glad that we were able to reconnect and that hopefully, even with all that she has going on in her life, that we can find a way to keep in touch now and that perhaps maybe soon we can get together for drinks and/or a bite and catch up on the last 15 years. Anything wrong with this?

No that's a great thing! People should reconnect more often!

A few months ago, I got to see a few high school friends I haven't seen in a few years. It was really nice to see what they were to to and talk with them.

She’s also going through a bunch, she told me she’s dealing with a divorce and has a few kids, but I’m proud of how she’s managed all that and got a degree and a good job with all this happening. She came on a little strong by telling me I adore you when I said that she’s got my number now and she could reach out to me whenever. I told her despite not having talked for this long, I always saw her as a good friend, she said “I appreciate that more than you know”. It feels like she’s in a interesting state and want to be there to help as a friend when I can.
