As for my partner… He is as stubborn as a damn mule. We both are, those are our personality flaws. He is absolutely perfect in every way, but he is so stubborn. If I offer him money to pay for gas, “NOPE,” and he won’t listen to my reasonings lol. He’s especially stubborn, like “no way in hell” type of stubborn when it comes to help or doing things in his favor. I guess that’s the “man” part of him.
What are some “character flaws” that your partner has?
Currently don't have one. But I've noticed the types I tend to fall for have some common flaws:
Childish, cowardly, disorganized, flaky, lazy, irresponsible, rebellious, selfish, spoiled, uncommunicative, vain, and withdrawn.
Maybe not all these are simultaneously true of all exes, but all have at least some of these traits. And some had a few I didn't list.
But I realize I'm not exactly easy street either. I can be compulsive, defensive, fanatical, insecure, nervous, obsessive, paranoid, perfectionist, stubborn, pedantic, vindictive, worrying, and a huge workaholic. To the point of over-exertion.
I give my women plenty of freedom, even when I fear the worst. But haven't always had the best stock to choose from, and haven't always known when to walk away.
As such, with few exceptions, in the end, they always seem to either hate me, or have total apathy for me. Few of those who've abandoned me have ever expressed regret.
Then again, when so many of them are a stone's throw away from being a real life Harley Quinn, and you're not ready to be a Joker, you're better off without them.
Her great qualities far outweigh her flaws, but a few things drive me nuts.
She's bull headed. I can't just ask her to do something without her asking "Why?" and needing to decide for herself.
She's also kind of slap dash. It's a big pet peeve but she can't change so I've learned to live with it. For example, she'll set dirty, bowls, utensils and kitchen knives on the counter and move on with the intention of cleaning them later. In the meantime, the food dries on them and is much more difficult to scrub off. She might even clean a used kitchen knife and set it on the counter... right in front of the knife block! WHY NOT PUT IT IN THE KNIFE BLOCK? Or rinse dishes off and leave them in the sink instead of putting them in the dishwasher that is literally next to the sink. Her excuse is "I was too busy", as if taking an extra second or two would be an imposition. Or working in the garden and leaving tools lying on the ground and forgetting about them. That's how she is with a lot of stuff. Her mind is always on to the next thing she wants to do before she finishes what she is doing. She doesn't think ahead. I'm not exactly OCD, but her behavior brings out OCD in me. LOL
I guess another thing is, if I say something to her about leaving the knives or dishware on the counter or tools lying on the ground in the garden overnight, she rarely acknowledges my calm attempt to raise her awareness. Instead, her immediate response is to change the subject and point out any thing she can think of that I've done. She's rather have a fight than change her behavior.
Hmmm... I don't see the things some people see as flaws... just personality difference...
I don't like how uncommunicative some are but it's not a flaw, just they are quiet natured... I can be talkative...
Having different points of view is fine. I like seeing things as a debate and hate when people call that arguing which usually involves anger. People lie peaceful reason with each other and try to explain why they believe something is right...
On the other hand... disrespect (insults and intentional attempts to hurt the other's feelings) are flaws...
In cases of medical problems like NPD and psychopathy... I don't know if it is exactly a part of character but.. probably yes because even they can learn to be productive individuals... they aren't born bad. Not all Psychos are killers. Nature plus nurture in combination... Luck too... and thus, they need help... help, not hate.
The guy I used to flirt with at work had two flaws - He once made a mess and did not clean up after himself because he thought that since the mess was in my area, cleaning up was my responsibility and he would not tell me what his race was when I asked him what country he was from, I think he was worried I would lose interest if he picked a country I did not like.
Welllll he’s an amazing person buttt he keeps emphasizing on getting married when we started talking like 4 months ago and only recently made it official. He’s so into the future that he doesn’t want to pause and just enjoy what we have now but has already planned for our three kids 😂😂😂 that don’t exist yet. He lets the fear of not getting married to me in the future cloud his judgment about how I feel about him. Like not wanting to get married immediately after I graduate doesn’t mean I don’t love you. I just don’t know what to do with my life yet. I understand his rush to get married because he’s turning 30 and culturally it applies more pressure on him. But I’d rather we set a solid foundation income wise and have a plan than just rush into the entire marriage. Anyway he’s still the most loving person I know ☺️
His upbringing. Despite of him pretty much being raised in Denmark - his upbringing is still slavic and semi Islamic later strict Christian = very patriarchal household. Meaning the woman submits and takes care of all housework. Almost broke us up in the beginning.
Looking at your list, I would say volatile, due to a temper that seems to flare every so often. No one gets hurt, occasionally ia shoe will get thrown at the floor, but beyond that he tries very hard to be a good husband and father. Our kids are challenging with listening skills and are walking hurricanes. So maybe he’s a little bit of a neat freak, but not too extreme.
She is weaker vessel with almost as many flaws as my 2003 automobile. I would like to exorcise the OCD though. Read ALL of Ephesians 5 since it covers both boys and girls. All family, marriage, and couples counseling comes from there. Save yourself a butt load of 💰💰💰💰💰 💰
Well I'm single right now so I can't give you an answer to that but when I do have a girlfriend or on dating character flaws are some of the things that I like because that's also tells me who they are and how strong and independent and confident they are it's a beautiful thing sometimes
My husbands is also very stubborn to the point where I get super annoyed and have to walk away from the conversation lol He’ll deadass talk over me and be like “I don’t wanna hear it” and he genuinely thinks he’s right about everything, even the dumbest shit. I love him but he’s so damn annoying sometimes 💀
Well, I'm single but my ex-girlfriend, when I said she looked pretty, she would say well I don't feel pretty, I've only had 2 girlfriends in my life but not one time did I take money off of them and I never took food off of them or make them pay for our meal when we went to dinner, I love spoiling girls when I am in a relationship.
i dont get into that with women it's not really mackish to do so because if i tell ya that lets say our relationships failed and it was actually in the cards for us to be together my error in doin that with that possibility would be you thinkin that because i talked negatively about my 2 women that im with that i'd do the same if we we're together
If i had a girlfriend probably everything. i am annoyed by peoples mannerisms all the time i will notice something they always do and wonder why they do it. Im sure i do things too but I don't know it just slightly annoys me
