hello everyone!! I wanna hear an unbiased opinion on a little relationship problem I've been having for quite a bit, which is why I'm here!
I got together with a guy (which I'll call BowlMan/BMan) in February 2020 and things were alright for the first few months of our relationship... until they weren't! A week before our one year anniversary BowlMan broke up with me because his mental health wasn't well. A few days later I get a call from a friend with some bad news: the summer before BMan lied to his friends that I broke up with him so he could start talking to some girl I don't know. Months pass and I want an apology which I eventually lose hope for getting. UNTIL VERY RECENTLY!!
To set the scene: it's a march morning and my alarm goes off, the first thing I see on my phone is an apology from BMan! He mentioned how I never deserved what he'd done, he regreted it all and that he didn't expect me to forgive him, which I never plan to. However, I hope he means it because I wanna give him the benefit of the doubt and another shot as friends but I've demonized him so much for this cheating thing that it feels weird of me to do. My anxiety makes me even more confused due to the fact that I haven't talked to the guy in months and I don't know how to continue and what to say. So, the big question, what should I do now?
