Is it normal for new couples to go days without texting each other?

We became official a few days ago, they asked me to be their girlfriend (this is their first time in a relationship). but we don’t live together and on weekdays when we don’t hang out, I always have to initiate texts, but just like one message a day to see how they’re doing or send a pic and my partner just responds dry like “lol cool” or “yes”. Also I see them online all the time we are in a group chat and they are more active on the group chat than messaging me. my previous partners have texted for a quick daily checkup at least but this one isn’t responsive. I don’t feel like I’m in a relationship at all and I’m starting to get bored of them….

by the way: they are not working now it’s summer break from college and they have more free time than I do bc I work. We see each other on weekends.

if u both need a break for a wile i would sujest not talking for a few days over phone or text to get ure head together but if not and they dont text it sounds like he only callu when he's board last on the list not all men are like this some are nice or he is waiting for you to text first
