That was a very mean spirited and purposefully hurtful thing you said to him. I don't blame him for being hurt and angry at you. Your attitude about all this is wrong and I don't blame him for ignoring you. If I were him I would be seriously reconsidering his engagement plans.

"I said to my fiance' "what kind of man are you" in a inquisitive tone of voice"
With the above "question" you were essentially saying he is not adequate as a man, which was clearly deeply hurtful. You are being very dishonest with yourself if you don't acknowledge that.
You are the one who owes him an apology, and he is the one who should be questioning your relationship.
He didn't appreciate the shit test you were laying out, but he overreacted.
"I was not being mean in the conversation."
Yes, yes you were.

What the question? It’s a statement with question mark
You disrespected him and questioned his literal manhood. Do you really think that was a decent thing to do?
I would have responded the same way.
You are not wife material.WFT! He refuses to apologize to you?
I guarantee you will have better luck getting him to come over if you apologize to him for saying such a shitty thing. You are the one who owes him an apology.I would try counseling first, but if that failed, unfortunately I’d say to end the relationship.
And that's the douchebag you were to marry? I advise you to reevaluate your standards for relationships.
He probably saw the very real trap you were setting for him. Good for him ending the conversation.
Let him cool off and apologize to you
