I said to my fiance' "what kind of man are you" in a inquisitive tone of voice during a conversation where we were recanting a time we hung out with his friend who said that my fiance was more attracted to his girlfriend than me... so my questions was in regard to not standing up to this "friend" about that. As soon as I said "what kind of man are you?" his response was to yell at me "fuck you and fuck this" and hung up on me and proceeded to refuse to come to my house. I was not being mean in the conversation. I was not yelling. He was defensive and angry. I don't want to sign up for a marriage with this sort of response. Does what I asked really call for that reaction? I suppose he's the kind of man that tells his fiance' to "fuck off'. We are christians and he says he is a Jesus follower -- so this is not something Jesus would be "ok with"... and he refuses to apologize and states he would say the same thing if I asked him that ever again... and GO.

That was a very mean spirited and purposefully hurtful thing you said to him. I don't blame him for being hurt and angry at you. Your attitude about all this is wrong and I don't blame him for ignoring you. If I were him I would be seriously reconsidering his engagement plans.

With the above "question" you were essentially saying he is not adequate as a man, which was clearly deeply hurtful. You are being very dishonest with yourself if you don't acknowledge that.

You are the one who owes him an apology, and he is the one who should be questioning your relationship.
