Will you ever love someone again?

I was in a relationship for 7 years with a guy who was the love of my life. He was my best friend soulmate we did everything together. He passed away a year ago. I’m just now slowly staring to look at other guys and date them. Will I ever love another guy the same or love any other guy at all? I know he would want me to be happy and find love again.

First of all, I am so sorry for your loss. It must've been beautiful what you and your partner shared. 7 years is nothing to bat an eye at!

As has been stated throughout the ages, things just take time. I believe as long as you don't rush, and wait for the right person to come along, you can find true love again. Giving your past relationship the respect that its due, no, I don't believe it will be the same. Every relationship is unique in its own right. However, I believe beyond the shadow of a doubt, you can find something beautiful with another.

Just the fact that you acknowledge that he would want you to be happy and find love again seems to be giving you strength to move forward. Practicing self-love and care will also give you a guide on who will be right for you, but I think you might intuitively already know this. In time, you will love again.

I've been in two long term relationships, and I'm certain I'll find love again.

And it'll be even better, because I've had 9 years to learn about myself, my relationship style, my needs, and my wants.

I'm taking the time right now to really connect with myself and figure myself out.
