Guy I’m dating spends money on his female friend but not me?

So I’ve been dating this guy a while. I was celibate for two in a half years when we met (that changed), we see each other everyday as long as I’m picking him up.. I tested yesterday by not offering ti pick him up from work to see if he’d make the effort to make his way to me instead (didn’t happen).. I feed him every day, provide rides when he needs it (gas isn’t fkn cheap anymore) and he doesn’t offer even a damn thing, ever. He works 6 days a week, doesn’t have any responsibilities or bills to pay but for some reason he will offer to help pay for his “friends” (a woman- who happens to be pregnant) bills when she has a fully grown and capable man herself who can help her..

Now am I wrong to he irritated by this? I am a single mom of one, I bust my ass and only make $18 an hour, I pay all of my bills myself and on occasion will be able to splurge on doing something nice for my daughter and I… am I wrong to be irritated that I do so much for this guy only for him to be helping out this friend who does nothing for him? I’m extremely bothered by this and no longer want to extend my hand to help like I’ve been doing because who the hell has me?

He’s asking me to meet this girl tomorrow cause it’s her birthday and I really don’t want to because the one day I was going to meet her, she canceled and I’ve been irritated that for some reason, she’s having my man cash her out and thinks her time is so important…

Thoughts? Cause I’m so fuckin irritated about this and have no clue on how to explain this to my man without him getting so defensive.. cause like, I know my worth and what I’m willing to put up with and this isn’t it..

Honestly, you’ve been putting in all the effort from the sound of things. If he is not matching your energy, then it is time to communicate with him your concerns. Don’t do anything on a whim, but if he argues back or does not make an effort to change, simply move on.


As a mother, your duty is to provide for your child, but right now it sounds like you actually have two children. You are not responsible for his well being and he sounds like he is unappreciative.
