Was it because of oath that he came back for awhile?

we met at the age of 18, then when we turned 19, he was making an oath that he won't want to marry anyone else.. other than me.. somehow our SPECIAL FRIENDSHIP remained same until we turned 22. at the age of 23, I was extremely jealous, I couldn't hold my jealousy and anger.. we were arguing a lot in that year, in many years before, we had no conflict at all. then I decided to left him, we didn't contact for many months, actually almost a year.. and when I reached him out, he got a girlfriend. a girl who asked him to his girl. he himself told me he didn't like her, but because he wanted to be in relationship. he agreed. and he stopped contact me since then..

fast forward, we are now 26, out of nowhere, he texted me , asked about my life and all.. even bragging about him being successful right now. I just told him in simple way that my life nothing much happens, and I didn't tell him in details.. somehow I wanted to tell him that I missed him but I couldn't. and because I made the conversation turned boring, then he stopped responded me.

It's difficult to say if he's still thinking about an oath he made at 19, it's been like 7 years.

He obviously was still thinking of you and curious about you, but who really knows of his intentions.
