My (23F) boyfriend lied to me about his age and I don’t know what to do?

We started dating at the middle of this year and he told me he was 20 years old. I didn’t think twice about him lying to me about his age, however he had a baby face. Like I said prior, I didn’t think think twice because there can be adults who have baby faces.

A few weeks ago he facetimes me around night time and we were just talking about random topics. Until he tells me that he is actually 19 years old, but turning 20 next year. I couldn’t talk after that, I stayed silent for around 5 minutes. After that he asks me if I still loved him, I didn’t say anything I just questioned everything he has told me. I didn’t feel anything after that, I was still in utter shock. Then he told me that he has never told me he was 20 and that I don’t remember anything. Sadly I erased those messages where he told me he was 20, but now I don’t know what to do anymore. I feel like I am living a complete lie. To be honest, I don’t know what’s true or not. I don’t even know if his feelings towards me are even true.
Any advice is needed please help!

I met a girl one night and we had a nice conversation and she told me that she was 24 and I told her I was 23. When we got to know each other better she told me she was really 26 and I told her I was really 22. I really did not think of her any differently.

I think you can get past this. It is really awkward when you first meet somebody and you want her to like you so maybe you are not 100% truthful. It seems stupid after the fact but while it is going on it makes perfect sense.

On that same token, starting a relationship based on lies is not good. i just find it ironic that you're upset about something that women do all the time. Women are Rarely honest about their age.

That's a 1 year difference. Does it really matter that much? In regards to sincerity I mean maybe, but his age, would it affect you? Does it make you much older than he is now? 3 - 4 are close numbers though.

I'll be honest with you. It's a big red flag. And it's not like he told you after few days about it but its more. So do think if you still want to be with him.
