Yup, its normal but not okay. People who rely on the generosity of others are usually the types that are more than willing to take advantage of themselve. But you are allowing to happen, so you have to take a personal stock of yourself.

You need to set boundaries an make other respects them. Now I would change the locks on the door and boot this friend out. I they can take trips then they should be able to figure out their own living situation.
