My boyfriend rated me an 8/10 on physical appearance and his boss 10/10. Should I be upset?

I shouldn’t have asked him this. It’s like the “Do I look fat in this dress?” question. We were in a deep conversation and it was late we were talking for over 2 hours. My boyfriend and I are in a long-distance relationship mind you. I asked him 1-10 how attractive am I? He said 8 compared to the boss he had a crush on year ago a 10 🫠

I figured that, I didn’t react in anger. I told him thank you for being honest. Usually people would lie and just give their partner a 10 because they want to avoid confrontation or not hurt their partners feelings. He said that it doesn’t mean that he doesn’t find me attractive and that is really attracted to me but his boss was his usually “type”.

Even though he gave you an 8. Think of it this way. You are the one with the guy and not the other girl who he rated higher. So he obviously does find you attractive and you are the one who he wants.

Surprisingly, my first reaction wasn’t anger. Don’t get me wrong I was upset and told him. I also know that i can trust him enough that he will tell me the truth even when it hurts.

I just said thank you for being honest and told him that I’m happy you feel comfortable enough to tell me the truth even if it might not be easy.

He says he’s happy that we can healthily communicate with one another about so many things.

8 is still pretty high. I know I shouldn’t asked that question and when I realized it was a stupid question, I apologized for throwing him into that uncomfortable situation. It was wrong.
