Some of my friends think a 50 year-old man is too old for me, but isn't it the right age?

I'm 37 myself, childless, super low count and clearly not getting any younger. I still get hit on but for the wrong reasons. He is the closest option towards my goal and has already agreed with it. He's been single for many years and according to him, I was the only one that didn't ever ghost him. From my side, he's the only man that hasn't lovebombed me with idiotic ''my love'' BS, nor asked me sexual questions and calls me by my real name.

Since I always look younger than my age (due to genes, never smoking and a healthy diet), some of my friends think a 50 year-old is too old for me. Meanwhile I think I've found my match. My female cousin was in my same position several years ago too. She got married at the age of 39 and the guy was between 50-60 years old.

Isn't his age good and suitable for me, a 37 year-old woman?

It’s fine. If you were 43 and he was 56 I think they’d look at it different. I think what it is is that you’re still in your 30s, but he’s in his 50s, so going from 5 to 3 (50 to 37) it makes it seem like he’s 20 something years older than you. This is your life, not your friends’ life. Chances are they’re in relationships, you’re not. Either way you’re still alone, they will go on living their life w their partner while you’re still single. I don’t see an issue w it. If you two really like each other, you’re both clear about what you’re looking for than that’s ok. Your friends’ opinions should have none to very little on what you decide. I could see if he was abusive, anger issues, etc, then they stepped in to try to convince you to leave him. You’re an adult, so what makes you happy.

Nope, hardly any of my friends are in great, successful relationships. Most are actually single and another one is divorced because her husband used to cheat many times and stopped loving her.
Yes we like each other and are getting serious at a quicker pace (without the lovebombing nor calling each other pet names BS). We've had serious conversation of marriage too.

So they just want you to be miserable like them too. Guarantee if neither one of them found a man like the one you’re talking about they’d run w it. Is the age the only reason they’re saying that is because of the age difference? Why not ask your cousin about this she’s successful w her relationship. Yes it's apparently just the age they're concerned out. They think I should find a man within my age from ages 35 to early 40's. My cousin has a private life for the most part. She rarely ever posts on FB and doesn't show up online too much. The only single time she posted on FB was her wedding picture and their adopted son, then nothing else. She doesn't post ''I love you'' declaration messages either. I've heard that truly happy people are rarely online. They're busy with their own lives.

It's just their opinion but I'm the one that decides in the end. I think he's a great march for me and honestly I'm glad to have been given this chance. I'm hanging on to him and definitely won't let ir go.

My husband is 15 years older than I am. We have been married for 10 years and the age difference hasn't impacted our relationship negatively at all. If anything it has been a good thing, especially for me. For us compatibility, core values, and good chemistry are what our marriage is based on and keeps our relationship going strong. It's not that huge of an age Gap 13 years is still somewhat the same generation and if you're both looking for the same thing and it could work. Now if you go like 20 years 30 years difference then I think there could be problems there but that 13 years image I think you're good. And who cares what your friends say. It's your life

Honestly , that's a big age gap but I don't think it's too extreme.. the only problem is if he doesn't look good for his age or he doesn't take care of himself.. especially since you are.. You're not even 40 yet and you still look good , and he's already an " old " person.. so , he has to be too good for his age for this to work , I believe.. otherwise sooner or later you're gonna feel trapped and probably seek other men..

This would be our first time for both of us. We've never been married before.

Exactly. My dad's older than mom by 11-12 years. She was turning 18 when she met him and he was 29. Then again, she was very young. It's about similar in my case. Men generally like younger women within suitable age range so 37 and 50 sounds about perfect for me.
