Isn't one rejection from a woman enough to move on to the next one?

I just read a story about certain men that moved on after the same girl rejected them 3 times. Then another one was about a man proposing several times on different ocassions until the his girlfriend finally said yes on the 4th time.

Isn't that low self-esteem already? If I want to advance things (whether it's asking her out on a date, wanting to travel with my girlfriend or proposing marriage) and the woman says no, I'm not going to ask again. I'm leaving and not coming back. I take no as a no.

Then if she wants me back so badly, she would have to ask me. I don't ask again, she does the asking. She lost the chance when she said no. Seriously isn't one NO from a woman enough to move on?

Yes it definitely is. The issue is woman love attention and they will often be wishy washy in their rejections because they know if they gave a direct no then the attention will cease. Either that they are very rude about it and/or they have to give some sort of long winded excuse about it. It’s there way of avoiding guilt.

The best way to reject someone is:

1) first acknowledge and respect their intentions (as long as they themselves weren’t rude/obviously creepy/etc.)

2) just say you are “not interested”. No more or no less. Don’t give long winded details unless they are dumb enough to ask why. Don’t give them unsolicited “advice” either. That’s condescending. Don’t tell them “oh someone else will like you”. Women are especially horrible about that last one.

3) do NOT ask them “can we be friends”. No. This another area were women all too often inadvertently insult men. However men are guilty of this as well at times.

But back to the original question. Take the rejection in stride and move on fast. Yes it will hit your ego but like a seasoned salesman you learn to deal with it. Also denying women further attention is the one power men still have. Even in modern times women still crave attention more then men do. Controlling yourself and denying them undeserved attention is one way men can still keep their power.

Context matters. If a woman says "no" to a date because she's busy that particular day, it might be acceptable to ask again at a later time. If she says "no" to a marriage proposal because she feels it's too soon, it might be acceptable to ask again after some time has passed and the relationship has developed further.

The stories you mentioned about men who continued to pursue women after being rejected multiple times are not necessarily examples of low self-esteem. They could be seen as examples of persistence or determination.

Your approach of moving on after a single rejection is completely valid. It's a sign of respecting the other person's decision, and it also shows that you value your own time and feelings. If a woman changes her mind and decides she wants to pursue a relationship with you, it's her responsibility to communicate that to you.

It is. Those guys are desperate, and I don't know why. If you've seen 1 Western female, you've seen 5 million. Conformity is the name of the game now. They don't vary, they're not unique. They only vary in skin tone and regional accent, that's pretty much it. Guys that do that are why the Western female ego is bigger than China. Which is so ironic... it's like the Chiefs pounding their chests because they clobbered a 1-13 squad at home. As long as there are desperate, lonely weenies out there, their egos will stay up in the stratosphere. I know a female in prison in Ohio who flat told me on the phone that "lonely old men are our favorites in here... they're the ones who fill up our accounts." And that's a female IN PRISON. It depends on the surrounding cultural setting. If a girl in your village that you cannot avoid seeing everyday turns you down at first she may still change her mind someday. Maybe her parents will one day encourage her to marry and you will still come to her mind as a candidate.

However, in Western style dating in a city or huge online dating pool there is no point in a second try with a woman who does not even show initial interest.

Some guys think they can get her to change her mind, or some of them have fragile egos and can't take no for an answer so they hound a girl.

Exactly. I'm only asking once and if she says no, I'll take that as the final answer. If she wants me back then she would have to ask me herself. I wouldn't see the point of asking again, too humiliating.

In the initial phase, yes. I ask. She says "No." I move on to the next girl. But that does not mean that if she says "No" to something specific while we are dating I just dump her.
