he's very insecure which causes him anxiety because he thinks the worst so he vents to her. And his anxiety and irrational thoughts causes her and the people he vents to to view me in a negative light. They dont understand he is anxious so what he's saying are fears not facts. I am 34, i dont care what anyone thinks of my man. I am old enough to make my own decisions.

No it is not normal for any 40 year old to go their moms for everything. It shows they are not independent and very immature. Especially men that do this. His mom does not need to be involved in all your problems because even when you two move past the issue, his mom will never forgive you for what she thinks you did to him.

Not everything. Some things, sure. Maybe the big things, he can ask their opinions on the matter. It's good to get different perspectives on things, but ultimately, the decisions have to come from the person themselves.

Why do you date him if you clearly think this little of him. Let's be real here. His mom probably don't like you and she probably has good reason to. Rather than going to war with people who are looking out for him why don't you just try being a good person. You'd be amazed how these problems will clear up.

It seems kind of weird that he needs to vent. In my opinion he should be able to deal with things that happen in everyday life on his own unless he has a mental health condition where he should be receiving treatment from a professional.

Maybe not to excess but when a problem or something in your life comes up your not familiar with it can help to get advice from a source you know you can always trust. You be surprised but when their gone you remember a lot of things you wished you would have asked.
