I started seeing a naturopathic doctor after general practitioners could not rid me of a crazy face rash I suffered with from 2016. When I first started seeing the naturopath she put me on a cleanse that cleared my acne ridden skin up for good ; did a test on my stool and found some imbalances and managed that as well. Instead of stopping her treatment after actually curing me of those two issues ; she started coming up with all these sicknesses that I had. Prescribing more and more supplements. After a while I started having awful chronic pain, and when I would mention the chronic pain she would say it was due to fatigue or stress. When I went last time she raked up her price on me after the appointment and when I said why? She gave no explanation and then said she did spend 10 extra minutes. I also denied paying for another bowel test. I said to her I didn’t need one. When I asked her if I need a follow up she dismissed me ; and haven’t heard from her.
That does sound super sketchy dude. A few red flags:
- If she "cured" your initial issues but then kept finding new alleged sicknesses, that's a money grab.
- Chronically overprescribing supplements is unnecessary and can cause harm.
- Hiking up the price without explanation is super uncool.
- Blowing you off when you questioned things is shady AF.
Naturopaths can be helpful, but you gotta watch out for the charlatans too. This lady seems like she was more interested in your wallet than your wellbeing. I'd do some research to make sure all the extra tests/treatments she pushed actually made sense. Don't feel bad - we've all been scammed at some point. Learn from it and spread the word so others don't get taken too! Next time maybe get a second opinion if something feels off. You dodged a bullet cutting her off.

My wife and I are big fans of naturopathy. I sounds like your practitioner fixed your initial problem, but they started trying to milk you for money.
I would look for a new practitioner.
