Can having low self confident be suited for being a boyfriend/husband?

When I was 20 years old, I got married to woman that I thought had self-confidence issues. I mean she basically told me that, but being young and naive, I assumed she work that out over time.

But honestly no she never did. She had so much self-doubt in her that she could not help but project that self-doubt on to me. And when I rejected it, it only made her even more insecure.

I would recommend you try dating someone like this for expense just so you learn how it works, and therefore prevent yourself from heart burn and heartache later in life.

For me confidence is a Major attractive quality. You shouldn't have to spend your time reassuring someone. That being said confidence can be built up and confidence can be lost over time. If you care about a person it's always important to find the root cause for the confidence issue and go from there. If it's a continuous problem and they make it an issue that affects your relationship negatively you have to voice you concern and do what's best for both of you if it's a new relationship it might just be better to part ways. If it's a long term relation ship and a new issue it may be best to seek counseling.

I think insecure people should work on themselves before getting in a relationship. insecurity is the root of so many problems: jealousy and control, doubt and even sometimes cheating. A LOT of people cheat to receive that validation because they don’t feel confident. It’s not wise to date someone expecting a happy relationship when they aren’t even happy by themselves

Depends if he is going through a phase or if he has a fundamental problem. If you stick with him in the former and he perseveres you are a high value woman and he will have a true respect, love and loyalty for it. But if he is the latter then you could just be enabling him.

One seldomly discussed major problem in society is guys who have “mommy” issues. Guys with this problem are often mocked as insecure and weak. But it’s a very real problem.

Not every mother was a great mother. Yes she went through pregnancy and child birth bringing her son into the world. She gave him a chance at life and he needs to always respect her for that.

But there some men were raised by abusive, absent, controlling or downright horrible mothers. A young boy is just as fragile and defenseless as a young girl.

Anyway it isn’t the job of the girlfriend/wife to “fix” a man with these problems. But she can encourage and support him to get professional help (that’s what I had to do).

wife response: my husband was not very confident when we first met. he was struggling with a lot of inner demons made worse by the fact very few people actually liked him. he is to this day one of those people that has gravity. everyone is drawn to him whether the love him or hate him is unknown until shortly after meeting. There was nothing I could do about his confidence as that must come from within so I loved him and I showed him I loved him. when he shared his demons I loved him and I accepted him. Everyone else had rejected him when he brought them up that simple act of accepting him for his demons changed everything. he became more confident, more centered, more self assured he began trusting himself and trusting his own judgment. and is now the absolute best man I have ever met and has altered the course of my life in so many ways for which I am eternally thankful.

You'd need to see that they are self-aware in order for them to want to change in future by picking up sports or going through its therapy to work out where the root cause of the low self-esteem is coming from.

Otherwise it may be quite difficult to have to carry them and consistently reassure them of why they should be confident it can also lead to codependency in a relationship which can cause issues.

Oh, I don't think there's any doubt that a guy who has a very low opinion of himself is arguably the ideal candidate for marriage, especially if he's well off financially and better yet, amenable to serving his wife or girlfriend as a personal servant, etc.

If I was a woman I wouldn't put up with it. It is weakness. I would be attracted to strength mentally and emotionally. It is likely that guy would get clingy, needy, possessive etc etc. I wouldn't be able to fully respect, be attracted to and love him. No way would I be able to truly love a wimp

Why do women want no responsibilities in a relationship?

to me if your man doesn’t have any confidence then you are not doing your job as his woman
