Why do you think this is so?

Once upon a time there was a girl I loved. She was my ex-brother-in-law's cousin. I really liked her. I realized that she loved me too. But after a while, even though I told her I loved her, but I didn't get a response. We follow each other on instagram and we both have each other's number. We haven't spoken for a long time. But for some reason, sometimes I check to see if instagram has unfollowed me or deleted my number. I think I'm scared she's gone. Why do you think this is the case?

Bro I feel you, first loves are always the hardest to get over. Even if it didn't work out, there's still a part of you that cares about her, you know?

It makes sense you'd feel afraid of losing her completely, like unfollowing or deleting your number. Cuz right now there's still that little bit of hope, even if it's just having her around online. But if she got rid of you, that door would feel fully closed. That fear of the unknown is scary.

I think deep down you're not really checking just to see if she unfollowed - you're checking to see if she's still thinking about you too sometimes, in her own way. We all wanna feel like we had some kind of impact on someone we cared so deeply about.

My advice would be, don't hold your breath waiting for her. Easier said than done, I know. But try focusing that energy back on yourself and your own growth for now. Maybe in time you can be friends again, maybe not - but you'll be alright either way. Keep your head up homie!
