Guys, if you were to get/are married would you let your wife organize your life?

I ask bc my roommate works for the Department of Human Services, she’s speaking to a man who did that before his wife died and because he’s unable to provide the information they need to prove his kid exists, they’re at risk of losing benefits for the child completely.

It seems very odd that this gentleman doesn't even know where documents are kept. She may have handled filing all of that information, but he should know the location of this information. I do most of the filing at our house, but rest assured, my wife would be able to find all of the important documents if something were to happen to me.
