It's OK to ask. I think it's helpful to suggest just taking a break, as it feels less permanent. Asking open questions can also be helpful, like "I've noticed you seem less happy after interacting with this person. Why do you think that is?"
However, we have to keep our expectations low, because it's difficult for people to pull out of habitual relationships. It requires a lot of grace and easing, and it's of paramount importance to avoid making them feel defensive. Ultimately, we can't control who they interact with, so there may come a time when we have to realize they won't end the toxic relationship and it's time for us to move on.
@Dongie Thanks for that. It is easier to be angelic when I have some time to think through my response though, haha. :D
I said yes but of c it depends on a lot of things. There might be work rounds like agreements to see the friend separately from partner. But if that friend is actively trying to hurt your relationship through words, opinions or actions, I think there's every right to cut that friend out.

It really depends. I am personally not attached to most friends. Your partner should know when to avoid contact with a person if the person is a threat to your relationship. Personally I do know some people who could be, but the fact I don't really care about these people, the time I may reply or talk to these persons is only because I am looking for a reaction from my boyfriend. Else it is just annoying to respond their messages. And I can leave them even for months as unread or desactive my social media account for a long time just to not talk. Rare are the people I want and I like to be closed with.
It depends on the relationship. I could tell my boyfriend to give up or put conditions on my friendships with girls due to my jealousy. At the same time he can't put any conditions on my friendships with big dick Blacks or going for girls nights out with my girlfriends. Generally I give him opportunity to be friends with girls, but he is really hot. There are lines he can't cross and lines I get to destroy. It's how our relationship is and it works for us and for the Blacks I'm with. My girlfriends, too.
I guess... but I never did that. When my future wife decided I was the only guy she wanted to be with, she suddenly didn't have any close male friends anymore. It's like asking if you should tell your dog not to read books (and no this is not directed at one gender but goes both ways). Nature will take it's course & if you are in the right relationship, and both people believe that, you will both work towards making the relationship work best and not be doing things that are bad for it.
The people who think it's normal to always have close opposite gender friends are the same people who are always in and out of relationships or have an unstable relationship, I think.
I'd suggest in a committed partnership the answer is surely YES , as these " friendships " or associations are causing tensions , we have probably all had some point had toxic friendships like this , its a matter of what is more important , the disclaimer being your relationship would need to have reached a certain point in its progression.
It just don't depends on the situation. I'm sure there are some unreasonable women who either create tension or are overly sensitive, and in those cases the answer would mostly be no. But there are always possible circumstances where it is called for.
Yes if it's causing genuine issues or problems.
Hell to the Yeah!!
Tension with who?
Scenarios could be the friends talk a lot of smack about your partner or they're bad for you and your partner sees it, but you don't. Imagine all possible scenarios.
When is it okay and when is it not okay?
