I want to make it clear that she's very engaged mother with them and they adore her, she plays with them and builds toys for them. But this is her opinion and she asked me to never tell them she thinks that and of course I won't

Not bad at all , Take that as a compliment man , she loves and values you and is basically saying she wants to spend the rest of her life with you. Not many of us guys’ hear those words coming from our partners’ mouth lol , it’s usually the kids’ first then we are last. Hopefully you both never have to experience anything like that scenario in your lifetime but what your wife is saying , is that you are her priority which is a great thing to have in a relationship , is your wife religious? Because the Bible says for a marriage to be happy and successful , a husband should be the leader of the household. A husband should prioritize God and then his wife and then the kids , a wife should prioritize God then her husband then her kids’ . So you have yourself a wife that prioritizes you and that’s a very positive thing man. I know you love your kids’ but your wife should be your top priority as well before the kids’ because Kids’ will eventually leave and be on their own leaving just you and your wife alone together. Kids’ can also turn against you and make your life a living hell. And yes your wife can as well but the chances of that happening are slim if your wife is prioritizing you over the children. If you and your wife aren’t prioritizing each other over the kids’ then your marriage might fall apart

More understandable as a man than a women as women are socially required to state they favour their children so surprising answer. Maybe in private more would answer the same.
Children need to be loved and supported of course by both parents but bear in mind that some women cannot see past their children leading to marital problems. So maybe all she's doing is saying you are important to her as well as the children. Which is kinda nice.
