You will both die. That is inevitable. Unless you die in a common disaster, like a car accident, you will die at separate times and the order of death will be out of your control.

I am 70 and my wife is 62. However, my health is better than hers. I never want to lose her from my life, but I also don't want to die and then leave her alone. There is no solution for this conundrum and the best you can do with the question - since you can't control the outcome - is to not think about it.

Being left alone after your lifelong companion dies seems to me like the worst case scenario. Being sad old and lonely must feel like a punishment of some sort..
