I have been with my fiancé for 4 years and overall, things have been great lately after a rocky couple of years. In short, she came to the United States a , got pulled over driving and got deported (yes she was in the US legally). Now we are long distance, she can't find a stable job and I have been supporting her for the last 2 years. I have my bills, her bills, and now I can't visit more than 2 times a year right now financially.
She is a little younger than I am, not enough to cause significant problems, but enough that we do have some disagreements on some things like her social media behavior. I really don't care anymore that she has nothing about our relationship, no photos of us, no comments, etc (I have a few photos of us)... I am pretty private anyway but told her if she is going to hide our relationship, don't appear that she is available or single. She posts a lot of sexy photos to social media, I get random photos like food, clouds, etc. and have to ask her why do I have to look at her social media if I want to see her (she rarely video calls). I opened a social media app and she posted one saying something like a naughty woman, but not a bad one my love. Today the first thing I saw was a meme saying the reason why I don't have a boyfriend, then another said I'm not for anyone while you are for me. I finally said, listen you are engaged and posting "gonorrhoea" which set her off. She got angry, called me abusive, said she can't post anything, blocked me (for an hour), and has been cold with me for a couple of days.
My view is you can post what you want, but respect your partner and your relationship or I am going to call you out if you cross a boundary. If you are engaged, behave like you are engaged. You can't expect to have the benefits of a husband and not be a wife in return. Did I cross the line enforcing my boundary or was it inappropriate to call her out on it? Where is the line between normal and inappropriate social media behavior?
