10 moI wouldn't just tie it specifically to this platform, but the Internet in general. Something about being behind a screen, unable to see the hurt in someone's eyes... able to insult them without consequence, all because they don't know how to handle their own hurt so they try to pass it off to someone else. Not sure what I was going to say after "Also" but yeah. I'd just say don't let it drag you down too much. If someone's defending something ridiculous and they're not open to reason, do what you'd do from any maniac in person: leave. Protect your peace, report if required.

Great advice. Thank you!

And I absolutely know what you mean. Somehow the internet brings out people’s darkest and angriest sides
The feeling of safety from being behind a screen might be the reason why11 Reply- 10 mo
Thank you!! A hug from you would be most appreciated. 🫶

Hey there! My aim here on Girls Ask Guys is to sprinkle a little wisdom and humor into the relationship chaos. People can be easily triggered because the internet gives us a sense of anonymity and freedom, making it simple for emotions to bubble over. 🌋 It's not always about you—sometimes it's more about personal frustrations, bad hair days, or just too much coffee. 😉 Stay cool and don't let the virtual grumps get you down! 10 moIncluding the people who call others out for doing the same thing. People are here to express a part of themselves that they can’t or won’t in real life. Especially things that would probably ruin their reputation with anyone who has a ounce of respect for them.
Which is why people will share things on here that most people would find disgusting and hideous because they’re behind a computer or phone screen. Especially the sexual shit. Even if they’re the same people yelling about perverts. And most these people are easy to bait in private chat too if you know how to talk to them.
People want to feel like they’re right. If a question is either really stupid or they’re trying to solicit the answers they want but don’t want honest opinions. I may be more snarky that’s part of who I am take it or leave it.
I generally try to offer helpful advice but if I can tell that’s not what someone’s wanting there isn’t a point. Unless maybe to help someone who stumbles across it in a similar situation.
10 Reply926 opinions shared on Relationships topic. I know what you mean. I tried to calm down a 13 year old girl who posted a question about kissing on the first date. She asked whether she has to kiss her boyfriend. I said no, don't do something you're not ready for. Take your time and he isn't your boyfriend yet. Don't feel pressurised. Some guy got offended because I told the girl "he isn't your boyfriend yet. You are going out for the first time" and he kept commenting over and over again and made a personal attack. I blocked.
I posted an appreciation post for dad on father's day. Someone took offense in that too.
Someone posted a question whether morals are subjective or objective? I said it's kinda hard to answer and gave a reason why. Some guy out of nowhere made a sarcastic offensive comments.
From what I've noticed after checking out their profile. Most of them are just frustrated because of whatever is going on with their life and so they come here to take out their frustration on people. The last guy I mentioned- I saw he was randomly saying offensive things on multiple post that day and yesterday too.

u 10 moMany young people are ill-prepared for the adult world. They don't know how to accept disagreement without acting as if their life has been threatened. They think rejection by the opposite sex is worse than being sent to Siberia. They don't know how to talk to the opposite sex so they live in DM world; they send a text to ask for a date and they send a text to break up. . . and then they wonder why they never felt any emotional connection.
Young people need to understand that new technology is merely a tool to be used in appropriate circumstances and excessive reliance on digital communications is NOT progress if you measure it by the outcomes obtained.10 Reply 2.6K opinions shared on Relationships topic. In this instance it's possibly the fact that you're acting like the victim surrounded by a pile of illogically mean and angry people...
Folks don't like to feel like their time is being wasted by careless, thoughtless, illogical people. So try some mindfulness.
Also the pompous entitlement in the declaration "I know for sure it's not me"... How do you know that? Check yourself and try to be more empathetic.
Bottom Line? If you're CONSISTENTLY getting negative remarks to YOUR questions and posts... it IS you.10 Reply1.9K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Gag is mild compared to places like reddit or tiktok. Its just online in general people get angry for no reason. They just wanna bully someone hidden behind a keyboard. We all know most people say shit online theyd never say to our faces in person

10 mo“It always seems like everytime I express an opinion someone feels always so triggered by it. So please help me understand what your problem really is? Because I know for sure it's not me or my opinion per se.”
Why do I think people on this platform are so angry?
I’ve noticed this more towards the guys than the gals, I could be wrong or biased. Though it might have to do with mood in general. Like if you had a nice day so far, you’ll be more ‘bubbly’ than a ‘grouch’. Outside factors play a role, maybe they came back from answering a weird question that fired them up who knows for sure? All I know is, we should all just calm down and not take it out on good people.
Thegreenyogi, you are one of those good people.

660 opinions shared on Relationships topic. That's just life :) Any public opinion will piss people off that's why you need a thick skin to be a public figure. Even just commenting online can piss people off or make people ridicule you or harass you or whatever. That's why there's a lot of people all over the internet who just lurk and never post or only in specific chats where they feel safe.
I think this site in particular is dominated by americans and the political system is extremely polarising and most people don't really feel represented or heard but all they know is which party they definitely don't want to win and that makes people irritated and easily triggered as people say nowadays.
If you had like 5-7 parties and everybody could vote for what they actually believe and not against what they don't want. And if there was less corruption and the elections actually mattered and the government would start solving problems. Then people would be more chill I think :)

m 10 moBecause:
- Being edgy is trendy, at least on the internet
- There is a lot of anger on earth, more or less justifiable
- This platform is generalist, it attracts everyone and no one
- This platform allows sex, politics and religion, which attracts a lot the wrong attention
- This platform features some members of red-pill, and you're a woman so you're the target for being lectured about whatever
- This platform features some people severely in distress, some of this distress consists in jumping on your throat for whatever reason

10 Reply I understand why this issue was raised yes, generally they are not open to different ideas when a question or a different opinion is expressed, it leads to mockery or insults. If there are people who get angry and are not open to different views, just block them.

10 moYou triggered me now :D
The problem perhaps is that others have own unresolved problems and now try to make these YOUR problems.
Anyhow... I believe that there still is a majority of sane people - they just post less often than the troubled ones :)
10 Reply Lots of times people tend to be mean cuz it tends to let them feel more strong than the other person. Or that the other person is weaker then them. Some kinda power trip.
On other occasion, they're oppressed or cowards in RL and take it out on internet where they know they can hind behind the screen and not pay for consequences for their attitude.
Those are my takes anyway.10 Reply- 843 opinions shared on Relationships topic.
10 moI don't think it's you, but your opinion.
People on here don't know you personally.
So its just your opinion.
Something you said didn't sit with them right that they had to make sure they can change your opinion.
When we say that it's my opinion inhabd the right to express it then you should also allow the people to express theirs.
People want to dictate but not listen.10 Reply
Anonymous(30-35)10 moi think it's because they can be anonymous and get their anger out on a complete stranger to make them feel better. i certainly wouldn't get angry at someone just for asking a question or stating their opinion. some people have toxic coping mechanisms.

10 moI think most people younger than maybe 40 are unhappy with their lives, future outlook, this country and the world in general. They think life is hopeless. That's why TDS, hatred of Southerners, antisemitism, hatred of Republicans and white men comes from. They need someone to blame.
10 Reply4.1K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Most of the people on this platform including myself are from the US and live in the US. I don't know if you live in the US or not, but most people in the US are just damn angry about many things including incoming equality, allously access to healthcare and the miserable capitalist casino that we're forced to live in so that a few people can be rich so the majority have to be poor. It's enough to make anybody angry.

@dongie is mostly upset because Trump covered up the Epstein scandal (obviously because Donald was on the list). And now he has to leave the cult and join the new one started by the richest man (and foreigner) in the world who uses a chainsaw to steal from the poor to give to the rich.

@Bricealan Absolutely! It just can be frustrating at times. I express very little on this site and when I do I get attacked and when I don't I then get accused of not contributing to this site because I don't help people. I guess my point of this question was calling people out on their crap! But thank you for the support!!🙏

I have “no sex chat” on my profile but I am still are asked sexual questions daily on here. Nonsense like that will make anyone angry after a while.
