By social collapse, I mean a world where people no longer live by their own minds, but by what screens dictate to them. When a coffee shop becomes famous on social media, people don’t line up because they love the coffee, but because they want to say, “I was there.” Places don’t become popular anymore algorithms do.
Reading rates are steadily declining, especially among young people. Thinking feels exhausting, so no one has patience for long texts. Everything has to be short, fast, and shallow. Knowledge is replaced by memorization, depth by performance. Everyone speaks, but no one truly listens.
Relationships have also fallen victim to this collapse. Loyalty is presented as an outdated concept. Cheating is normalized, even marketed as “freedom.” Some people proudly maintain multiple relationships as if it were an achievement. Emotions have turned into consumable products people use each other without truly knowing them, then replace them when boredom hits.
I want the person in my life to love children and animals, to read books, to be compassionate and deep. But I’m afraid people like this are getting lost in the noise. Because this era doesn’t reward goodness it rewards visibility.
Still, I don’t want to lose hope entirely. Maybe they are few, but there are still people who live with their hearts. I hope everyone finds the person who truly fits their soul.
