Do people just like the idea of a relationship more than real commitment?

It seems these days most people just like the thought of being in a relationship, but to actually be in the relationship and follow boundaries and commitment for each other, sadly seems like a thing of the past , Most girls’ I have dated all said they want to be in a relationship , but they also want to be single as well, by basically having their cake and eating it to. Me personally would just stay single if they don’t want to be on the same page as me. Why i no longer rush into relationships with a girl. Boundaries aren’t a control thing , they are agreed upon together , for the both of us to be on the same page with things , but some of the girls’ i have dated , expect me to follow the boundaries but when it comes to her , she doesn’t do the same , which causes double standards. Whatever you don’t want your partner doing to you , needs to be the same rules for you as well, not the other way around. I had girls’ tell me she doesn’t want me doing this and that , but when it comes to her, those boundaries do not apply. So if i am not her top priority , she will not be mine

Some do. Some people will go through all the outermost (surface level) interactions of a doting boyfriend/girlfriend however they won't make a jot of effort on any sort of deeper level. They'll act this way in public to the point that others will avoid interfering with you two, mistakenly thinking you're a couple. These people like the IDEA of you -- and want to be connected with you in the public eye -- but they don't want the REALITY of you -- the responsibility of being in an actual relationship and dealing with your "high"/"low" moments. They want the treats of the relationship without the reality of the relationship. These are usually emotionally immature people.

Some don't. Some people love to commit. They do it often, and many times perhaps TOO SOON... before the other person is ready.

I agree 👍🏼💯% with everything that you said! I believe this to be true in this day and age of the dating world.

But I think it's because they are on social media sites and learning what other women are doing in their relationships,! You've probably read me referring to these women as '
cookie cutter women'. If you've ever made cookies using a cookie cutter, then you know why all of the cookies look the same.

It really saddens me to know this about most women who are dating these days. If only they had listened to their hearts instead of what a frickin cellphone and social media sites are teaching them, they might have found the love of their life and lived happily ever after.

I think everyone is guilty of that to some degree. We’ve all heard of the honeymoon phase. Or we’ve pointed out cute young lovers, or what a wonderful couple. In most relationships are like that in the beginning when things are new, fresh, surprising and exciting. The more familiar you become with someone, yes, it gets more stable, but it also becomes a little bit more predictable. And that’s where life taps you on the shoulder and says it’s not always going to be a honey man. You’re in it for the long-term.

A loving relationship can last forever, but unfortunately not all loving relationships last forever, Relationships are a 50/50 chance on whether it will last or not , from my experiences with relationships none of them last , I was with my ex for over 20 years until she decided I am not longer good enough for her , and she completely changed on me to someone I no longer knew anymore. The sweet loving caring girl I fell in love with , turned into a girl I that started bringing constant negativity and misery into my life. So unfortunately love doesn’t last forever , unless both people choose to make it last forever.
