On a first meetup, do you put your phone on silent or leave it on?

Ur going to meet up with someone you ve never met in person. Before ur face to face with them, do u put your phone on silent so u can give her your undivided attention? Or do u not even worry about it? With my ex, when we started talking, I would put my phone on silent for that reason. I went further and setting my phone down, made sure the face was up. And a little later in our 'friendship' when I knew I was gunna see her i would unlock my phone. Giving her access to everything if she wanted to look. I had absolutely nothing to hide. But later on, she started accusing me of being sus for turning off my sound. So she had a hard time trusting me. She always felt I was still talking to my ex. AND I WAS, we have 2 kids together. I HAVE to talk to her. But I wasn't saying anything that I shouldn't. Nothing about missing her, no info about my new, no sexting. It was completely about kids and the casual comman courtesy, hey hi how are u good ok great kinda thing. Any way, I'm getting to far out of topic. So, what do u do at first?

My mother is 95 years old and quite frail, so the only time I silence my phone is if I am in court or in church. I am married now but when I was dating, if the phone rang, I would take it our and look at the caller ID but not answer unless it might be urgent. And I explained all of that to the contestant sitting across from me.

I somewhat need to be available if people at work need me for something, and even though it's something stupid 99% of the time that you'd think they'd be smart enough to figure out themselves, they call anyway and sometimes it's kinda time sensitive, so I at least need to know if they're trying to reach me, so I'd probably just set it on the table away from me but where I could see the screen if it rang and just explain if I really had to answer
