I think the problem of distance is a big one. How do you maintain a connection when it is almost always going to be through artificial means? By that I mean phone calls, texts, and email.

I think it will be awfully hard. I am basing this off how hard it is to maintain a relationship with relatives that live far away, and that is family!

LDR only work for a short period of time and if that relationship was already well established before going long distance. If a new relationship starts long distance it will rarely work.

I agree, made a "long distance" relationship work for a few years. That said it was at most 4 hours away.

And did not start out long distance. Though it did end up becoming toxic in the end.

I don’t think long-distance relationships work out in the long run. Usually, one person is more committed than the other, and they end up breaking up when one of them finds someone closer because they’re not committed.
