Anonymous(30-35)+1 yKind of. I'm a fattie. Well, I don't want to be thin really, but I want to lose weight and its f***ing hard. If I smell a cookie, I gain 5 pounds. I have a lot of friends who can eat what they want, when they want, and never exercise and theyre thin or at least "average" weight. I'm technically "obese" according to the bmi and most of the time I eat healthy foods. If I ate the same way that most of my thin friends eat ...that would make me gain a lot of weight. don't want that. Oh well, body chemistry works out differently for some people. The problem is I love to eat but also want to lose 50 lbs... Fml.
I do hate when they make comments like "im so fat" in criticism of their bodies. I'm trying to be more body positive these days in general, but its like...my best friend is this tiny thing, she's short and very thin, she weighed in as underweight at the doctors office and was advised to gain some weight. in our society, underweight is often the same thing as "hot". she is definitely seen as the extremely hot one whenever she's out in the world. shell make comments about her "fat ass" and I'm like really? your fat ass, huh? ugh. lol I have several friends who are thin and some of them are technically underweight. theyre all considered very hot. But be overweight and the world has an aneurysm.
Im more annoyed about societys attitude about weight and the sheer hypocrisy disguised by this bullsh*t veil of "lets be healthy."
It also makes my dating life hell but lets not even go there. >.>31 Reply- +1 y

+1 yNo. Well, my main goal is to be as healthy and fit as I can be, so that's why. Being thin is nice - it's aesthetically valued in our society -, but you can be naturally thin and still not fit or healthy, if you know what I mean. And just being thin isn't my focus. I'm not overweight, but not skinny either, just in the middle. However, heart disease and diabetes run on my dad's side, so it's one of my motivators to stay healthy, other than I just feel better and am more productive and less tired when I eat right and exercise. I think of my grandpa (on my mom's side), who was mentally acute and walking around, still pretty active at 89, and that's what I want. :)
But anyway, that's a long answer just to say I'm mostly happy with the way I am and wouldn't change to be naturally thin.00 Reply
I don't have a lot of excess fat on me. However, I don't envy people who are thin because of high metabolism because I understand the big drawback that comes with it.
Most people say: "I envy your high metabolism."
Me: Think of how much you spend on food per day. Would you be willing to pay 30-50% more per day, every day, for the foreseeable future in order to buy my metabolism?
Most people: ...50% is kind of a lot...
Increase metabolic rate > increase calorie intake needed > increased mass of food consumed > increased food budget $$$
The only people I do sometimes envy are those who are thin and able to get & stay full on an average-sized meal.00 Reply
+1 yI have had female relatives and female friends wonder why I stay so incredibly thin eating the way I do. In fact, my mother used to always say, watch what you eat because it will come back on you when you start to hit your upper 20's. At 30 I was still thin so mom would tell me the same, but she upped the age to mid 30's..haha At my age now I still have a hearty appetite and my metabolism is so high, I can come to your house the day after Thanksgiving, eat all of your leftovers, go comatose on your couch for two weeks and still wake up 5 pounds lighter.
Personally, I couldn't get jealous of anyone who are naturally thin, because I am one of those people.00 Reply
Nope, it always seemed the other way around. The ectomorphs are always jealous of the mesomorphs (when it comes to men) because we can put on muscle a lot faster. They are really tone, but can't ever build mass/strength. I could always lift more then them and get to a high level faster then them. They always were kind of pissy about that and would complain about not being able to bulk up. I'd rather have a little fat here and there and have to cut to tone, then just be tone all the time but be a scrawny little stick figure.

For me to stay in shape I get up at 6am every morning to kill myself at the gym everyday, I bike and walk everywhere and I am still far from perfect, I know the calorie content of most foods off by heart and if I so much as look at a cupcake it's already glued itself to my ass.
so when this tiny petite girl at my work started gloating that she's literally never owned a pair of sneakers or been inside a gym, I just wanted to slap her. She doesn't even know how to cook and she is always eating Mcdonalds or KFC for lunch...
the part which really grates me the wrong way though is that everyone assumes she is that way because she deserves it...because she works harder and takes better care of herself than the rest of us, and that I am the way I am because I don't,
some people have to work harder than others, and some people don't have to work at all.01 Reply- +1 y
Man I wish food would glue itself to my ass. I've always wanted a bigger ass.
+1 yI am a bit jealous, but in a friendly way :D I"m not naturally thin I am naturally fit, I"m tall and muscle grows easy on my body, but I wouldn't say I"m thin, also I do have to pay attention to what I eat to keep my figure, whenever I overeat it always shows afterward. I wish I could like my best friend does and she's super-skinny :D It's genetic with her, both her parents are very skinny and so is she, and they all eat like pigs :D I do envy them :D But I am proud of my body despite that. :)
00 ReplyI can eat whatever I want and never gain a pound. I took the depo shot and gained 40 in a month and it took about 4.5 years for my body to stop gaining so fast but now I can eat whatever I want again. I'm not jealous of it but I do wish I could be smaller then what I am now. My sister is trying so hard to gain weight and its impossible for her too.
00 ReplyHonestly I am jealous of naturally thin people, because I am not. If I just look or think about cake, I will most likely gain weight.
I have very big thighs and would call myself chubby (if not a little more).
I'm not feeling as feminine as I would like to, and I wish I was naturally thin.
The grass is always greener on the other side.00 Reply
+1 yI was naturally thin when I was 25 and younger. But now I just got fat. Trying really hard to get thin again isn't easy. My mom is still very skinny. She's 5'7 and weighs 120 pounds. I was at the gym with her the other day and she said she felt dizzy and weak. She needs to eat so she's not so weak. But she never gains a pound.

She kept going on different diets and then one day she just disappeared altogether. We found her clothes lying on the ground in the back yard.

+1 yI am already naturally thin and teah a lot girls tell me they'd kill for my body which I don't understand :D
But somehow I understand them cause they have to watch what they eat cause they gain weight very fast and we naturally thin people can eat whatever we want and always stay the same00 Reply
Anonymous(36-45)+1 ySometimes I am, yes. I have to work very hard just to have/keep an average body, haha! And I know men and women who have great bodies without even trying, or trying hard. Most I know don't work as hard as I do.
But, a part of me is grateful to have more than one perspective when it comes to body image and how people are treated, fat or thin.00 Reply
+1 yI'm not jealous at all, but I'll admit I definitely used to be, before I developed my own positive body image.
I'm fat, but if I don't equate my weight with my self-worth, then I have no reason to be jealous of other people's bodies.00 Reply
+1 yNot really...
I'm not naturally thin, but I am naturally athletic looking. It really doesn't take much for me to gain muscle unfortunately...I guess I am naturally smaller and when I was younger I was stick thin(couldn't help it) but it's whatever01 Reply- +1 y
Lucky. I wish I could gain muscle easily.
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yA girl I'm "friends" with, says she hates that I can eat whatever and still stay thin. I hate it though because the problem is that I'm short. So because I don't really gain weight, I look extremely small and lanky and I feel like that's why I'm single
00 ReplyI'm naturally thin and trying to put on weight, its horrifically difficult and I don't understand why anyone would desire to be like this.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI'm naturally thin with some muscle tone on me that I work on at the gym to make more apparent. So yeah, I guess I'm pretty happy to be where I am.

+1 yNope, saying as I'm one myself I hate it and if I wasn't naturally thin I'd be glad. I want curves, hate being thin and always will.
00 ReplyI'm naturally thin, sometimes old people come up to me and they're like " I used to be as thin as you when I was your age" but now they're fat lol.
