What does she mean when she says she isn't sure she wants a serious relationship?

I have been going out on dates with this girl for just over a month and have been getting very close lately. She is very affectionate (heavy petting) when we are alone together. Her affection in my opinion is deeper than just physical. She seemed to really enjoined spending time with my new nephew (offered to help when I baby sit), is going to look at houses with me and asks about my work and what I have been up to.

She says she doesn't know what she wants though. She has mentioned that she wasn't looking for a long term relationship. I told her that it is something that I wanted but that she has all the time she needs to find out what it is she wants. She shouldn't feel any pressure.

What could she mean by this? Does she like me? Is it likely that she might become interested in a long term relationship? What can I do?

I would have my guard up. Usually when a girl says anything like " I'm not ready for a relationship right now" , "I don't want to get serious" etc...it means she's not sure if she wants a relationship with YOU or to get serious with you, not in general. She may be trying to convince herself she really likes you because there seems to be nothing wrong with you and knows you would treat her well. That has happen to me before too. HOWEVER, she might just want to take things slow and enjoy getting to know you without any pressures(maybe she's scared of getting hurt). I would just go with the flow and see what happens=] She definitely thinks your a cool guy nonetheless.

I agree with EasyEC. Test her. Mention another girl that has been talking to you and see how she reacts. If she's scared to lose you to someone else or because you're feeling "bored" ,she may be more inclined to make things more exclusive!

Not sure how old this is lol, but I asked a girl i've been dealing with for about two months now if she still liked me after having a bad breakup recently and she said "Yes I do like you but right now i'm not really sure what I want/I need time"? During this conversation we were at the gym walking on the track together and working out like we usually do. The chemistry still seems to be there and just last week we had like an 8 hour text conversation lol (don't ask) she also invited me to go to church with her.

Should I just give her the time? She also told me "if it ever seems like i need space, give it to me ok? but that was after I told her it seems like she's been a little closed off lately... overall she's just been acting a bit different but we still talk just fine.

Pressure without being controlling, jealousy without being manipulative that she feels are an important impetus that invoke the need for a relationship. If the fluff of a relationship is removed, it's essentially a way to keep you exclusively committed to her. Until she feels that way, that she wants you to be with her and no one else, she won't really be looking for a relationship.
