Why Jesus was being smart when he said to be nice

One of the most important things I learned from work was not to fight back when somebody attacks you. Jesus said it 20 centuries ago, but I did not understand how important his guideline was, until I broke his commandment of loving your enemies and lost my job reference when my boss who used to love me, wanted to punish me for moving to get my racist co worker removed from their job. Lucky for me, I had three bosses and a supportive co worker so I still have people I can go to for job references. But God told me to love my enemies, I did not do that, and I lost a job reference because of it.

Today I complained to my mom about how an older woman slandered me to the staff I knew and the companions I had because she was jealous I was 30 years younger than her and could still date and flirt and marry while she was ugly and old and not romantically interesting to anybody and my mom said, every place will have at least one bad apple that tries to ruin it for everybody else. Evil people are too many to destroy one after another, so just ignore them and pretend they don’t exist since you will never have enough power to eradicate evil from the world, or even from your own realm.
