Christian advice I got twice

A stranger told me on the bus during a chat that all we do in life is hard and there is no such thing as an easy job, an easy friendship, an easy marriage, an easy family, an easy degree, an easy chore, an easy life or an easy virtue.

A guy I met at school told me there is no easy way out. Like making money is not going to be easy. Making friends is not going to be easy. Finding a partner and settling down is not going to be easy. Having kids is not going to be easy. Nothing is easy.

That's why God expelled us from Eden. He wanted paradise for us. He wanted life to be easy for us. We ate the fruit of knowledge and he new we couldn't stay because Eden contained the tree of life. He didn't want for us to live with the eternal suffering of sin. So now we live a limited life of sin till we can rejoin him in eternity free of sin.

It took me a while to understand that expulsion from Eden was NOT a punishment. God loves us! Everything he does is for our benefit. We're not omnipotent so cannot see that. Believe me! This is a tough one for me to swallow when I see a 5 year old child dying of cancer. It makes me so angry that that child has to go through that. When that child has not lived long enough to wrong anyone! But that's the point. God isn't doing it to that child. He's ALLOWING it. For what greater good? Well if I could answer that I could read the mind of God. I can tell you this I know an 11 year old girl who has twice battled a brain tumor. The second time her family asked for cards of prayers and well wishes. She ultimately did not survive the second time. But in that time it drew cards and prayers from not just around the nation but around the world. People talking to God that never would have before. I CAN'T believe it was for nothing. I have to believe her story changed many people and started a relationships with God. Even if ending was not what we all wanted. I believe that God was the first to weep at her passing. But now rejoices that she is free from pain.
