Why Christianity seems so difficult for some people

One reason some Christians find religion to be difficult is that they are serving God through a position of ego and self consciousness and not through a position of spirit and God conscience. God understands you’re human and God has no interest in punishing you for the flaws you were born with, God expects you to trade your flaws for His beauty, by being so focused on God’s beauty, that you forget and lose your own human ugliness and human flaws.

You do not change a person by making them hate what is bad, you change a person by making them fall in love with what is good.

Secular society is built around convincing people what is bad and then to hate it. Clearly that isn’t working.

Not that I am any longer, but there was a decade or so with that I was pretty heavily involved in Hellenic reconstruction paganism. It looked familiar. I’m not sure where I am now, it’s a bit of a mess. I followed you because you seem to know what you are talking about and represent your faith well.

Man is arrogant. We want to live forever. We want to be God's in essence. To bend a knee goes against our nature. In this sense we've never left the caves in evolution lol. We are ruled by fear and fearful people do stupid things. Notice atheists are generally arrogant. Notice atheists have to put you in your place with half truths. I'm not declaring war on science. Science is good! But while science can tell you the nature of the universe. It can't tell you WHY it was created. It can tell you the universe has existed roughly 14.6 billion years. And through dark energy is not only still expanding, but speeding up. But it can't tell you what it's expanding into. Or what is outside of the universe. It can suggest there are up to 10 dimensions but can only actually show you 3. What I'm trying to say is for every question that is answered raises 2 more. I have a thirst for knowledge as much as any non Christian. I want all the answers of the universe. But I know I never will. Not in this mortal coil. This is why I always say my faith took me 20 years. to achieve. And I still have moments of weakness, I'm human. But I know it's OK if I don't know it all. That God has it under control! I think people who don't believe in God are offended at the notion. That Chistians are full of it because they like to pretend the have some knowledge non-believers don't. This is why if I have an honest conversation with a non-believer I always say if you take ANYTHING away from this conversation take this. I DON'T HAVE ANYMORE KNOWLEDGE THAN YOU. I've never see heaven, I've never see hell. I've never seen Eden I've never personally talked to an Angel, etc. But I have faith I have experienced enough through prayer and seen what I can only describe as a miracle (s) in mine and others lives. And even if none of it were true, my faith in God and his plan for me gives me peace in my daily life that I never had 20 years. Ago. It has made me a more loving, patient person. I don't know anymore than a non-believer... I simply have faith that they do not currently possess.

Well you have to understand when people say that they're Christian Then There are rules that they should follow to be a real Christian not one Christian person follows those rules everybody's the center and when people hide behind that title Christian it makes it hard for anybody to believe anything about a Christian or what is even about

I think Christianity is difficult for most people because most do not see themselves as sinners hopelessly in need of a Savior. They either think there is no God, or think God should accept them based upon their own merits. The reality that each sin is cosmic treason against the Creator is lost upon them.

Agree. Starting to think you're stealing my words... Or maybe you're just getting wiser. I'm not christian though. I use to be before I came to understand the Bible. It truly is the greatest book ever written. It's impossible not to become addict to it once u start to understand it. It truly is the gospel = Good news.

I would have killed myself if not for the Bible. I'm serious. But like I said I'm not religious.

I am an aethiest. Christianity is difficult because:

When Christians don't have an explanation about God, it is "God's will or God's plan.

God is a cruel deity, he was responsible for the plagues of Egypt and 1.5 million deaths, compared to the devil who took 10 souls.

Christianity revolves round the Holy Trinity but they claim that God sacrificed his own son. It doesn't add up.

You're making it seem like God put those plagues on egypt for no reason. There was a reason, He told the pharaoh to let his people go and each time he would not listen. He was warned what what would happen and still did not listen. Each plague was a a way to show eygpt and the pharaoh who was the one true God was and wo was in control of everything. For example, egypt at that time worshipped frogs or had a frog God, so God sent frogs as plague to show them that it's Him who created the frogs, it's Him that controls the sun and so on and so forth. God isn't cruel, if He was he wouldn't have sent Jesus to save us, to die for us on the cross which should have been our place. Also the devil isn't just after 10 souls, he's after all of our souls, 10 souls is 10 to many.

@BlueScorpio If he wanted to punish the guilty foe taking advantage of literally their God given freedom of choice, I disagree but no big deal. Taking the 1st borne in every family? What about Exodus 34:7b, Deuteronomy 5:9, Isaiah 14:21 and Numbers 14:18 for example? Then compare to Ezekiel 18:20
He boasts of being a vengeful God, Romans 12:19. Are these signs of a caring or compassionate God? Definitely not.
I won't kick the beliefs of others, no matter which religion they follow, but surely, followers should study the bible and carefully consider what it says, not just blindly follow.

@BlueScorpio Jesus didn't die on the cross. If you believe in the bedrock of Christianity, The Holy Trinity, how could Jesus have died. He was resurrected, so he didn't die, God, the Father, Son and Holy ghost didn't sacrifice anything, so the whole belief, to me, is flawed.
I am open to any considered opinion to change my mind.

I have a very dear friend who was raised as a Shi'i Muslim. She converted to Christianity, which, along with her political views, gave her no choice but to leave her country.
She is a committed evangelical Christian who has studied both the Qoran and the Bible, and I mean studied, not just read. We have many lively debates which I always lose: as soon as she sticks a finger in the air I know I'm stuffed. The important thing is, we respect each other's views and there is never ranting or anger. She is a Christian I can admire, one who can explain her belief. She is actually a real Christian.

Because people don't want to give up a sinful lifestyle. They view that as more exciting, fun, and free and think it's too hard or unnecessary to follow God's commands.

Christianity needn't be rigid. Questioning is welcomed in most church teachings. I believe that some High Churches are more rigid. The Qoran on the other hand cannot be questioned, it is force fed, it must be accepted and can never be challenged.
