Hope is a dangerous thing. Realism is not.

A lot of us like to hope for better days and better outcomes, but they aren't coming. Try to "manifest" better luck for all aspects of life. Whether it's finding a job, a nice house in a good area for sale, a great wife/husband and so on. Where are we going wrong? It's all about perspective.

When it comes to it, I believe that faith and hope are different things. I define faith as a metaphysical feeling that cannot be explained by the physical sense, and is due to our connection with our creator. Having faith is part of human nature, but having faith is also realizing that you may not always get your desired outcomes because may be there's something in store that's better, which you're unaware of at the moment. It's more realistic in that if you work hard towards something and have faith, you are more likely to achieve it because even though faith in God is important for success, you have to put in the work necessary to achieve that goal and the two components compliment one another to achieve your desired outcome.

With hope on the other hand, it's not always realistic. The way I define "hope" is the lack of certainty due to insufficient effort, while still desiring the same benefit. There are a lot of people who procrastinate, don't work on their craft and improve their skills enough to get the job they want, don't work on themselves and are not trying hard enough to get the partner that they want, but they "hope" that they can get all of that one day. Some of them are even here on this platform, without mentioning any names of course.

I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news, but your dream should be both realistic and achievable. To define "realistic" in itself is tricky, since there's a minority of the population who can do what most of us deem as impossible and so their dreams are more ambitious but are still realistic because they are within their range of limits. Then there's the majority which are lazy and hopeful for things that they can probably do of they stretch themselves out to the limit, but have no desire of doing so because they don't want to go outside of what's comfortable.

Make no mistake, I'm not saying that you have to be exceptional. If you want an average life and are happy with it, then I'm happy for you. However, I'm starting to get tired about people ranting about a problem and not being active in trying to fix said problem, just hoping it would go away.

If you're reading this and find that it applies to you, I want you to write down what you want to achieve today, a week from today, a month, a year, 5 years and 10 years from now. Next, write down what needs to be done in order for you to get there. You will realize that's not an easy journey, but nothing that's good comes off easy. Work your ass off and stop complaining without trying, because other folks have plenty on their plate as well. Your mind will stronger and more realistic, and you will actually start to envision yourself doing what you want to do instead of aimlessly hoping for something that will never happen.
