1. Why is wearing a veil part of many religions like Islam, Judaism and Christianity?

2. Have women ever used the veil/covering against the dictatorships where wearing one is mandatory? Example doing something which is illegal in the dictatorship, but the dictators' police force can't stop them as easily because the women are anonymously and covered. It's difficult to see who it's if they're wearing burqa/niqab.

Because the notion of a woman possessing a sexuality of her own, much less showing any skin as evidence of that, is something that many religions have chosen to pretend like doesn't exist for millennia. Also, don't compare head coverings like what is seen in strictly nuns for Christianity, and coverings that sometimes cover everything butt the eyes in religions like Islam that is worn by regular followers. You're comparing apples and oranges there.

What in the fuck? How would that even work? You think a woman using her body to taunt the military would be all that effective as they riddle her body with bullets?

And allows people to work together. If it doesn't do that then it is probably a corruption.

I suspect that it is more corrupted than useful... I’m attracted to women with or without (modern) hijab and I don't think that women should be forced to do it. (I do think that spandex and summer dresses shouldn't be at the work place or store, and actually feel assaulted by the image... It's like someone dangling heroin in front of a junkie)

I think many people make it as attractive as possible so it doesn't really serve that purpose any more.

It probably works as sun protection as well.

I'm sure that the burka has been used subversively. Men can wear one, the annonomity is powerful. It's at least been used in the plot of some story.

They probably don't have a tolerance to the beauty of women. If you believe that a creator designed us, we're created attractive... Nudity was not a sin. Our complicated social structure makes clothing helpful, so it's fine.. porn and tempting and manipulating others can be problems. STDs are real concequences to fooling around, so as those evolve the morals need to adapt.

Things I've been taught when young are very hard for me to question.

Hair has been a major attractive part of women for ages. People like healthy and lush hair.

Covering it up is a good thing, especially for the purpose of being modest. Hair isn't sexual, but don't deny that it is a major factor to a woman's overall attractiveness.

Face isn't compulsory to cover, and, hey, we have so much technology and people can easily change their disguise with makeup or surgery so either way you have to depend on more than appearance to recognise someone.

Islam emphasises a lot on covering the chest. For obvious reasons._.

Jewish culture, Islam and Christianity are kind of interconnected so there are similarities... I don't know about others.
And I agree with you - would be hard to find someone with niqab😂. But it's not part of the religion, it's par of the culture (I'm a Muslim and as far as I know in our religion girls and guys are supposed to dress modestly, which means - for girls - covering the chest and their head)

In Islam the women are supposed to cover their body except their face and hands as the prophet said , covering their face or their hand it's not mandatory but in some countries they cover their face because some of them are shy and some they get annoyed when men looking at them and comment about them

Many religious rules started as advices to avoid problems: with health or with other people.
The head covering was originally probably a health advice to avoid sunstrokes.
It later became a way to hide female beauty.

I am from india so hindu girls are bonded with the laws of traditional dressing... The same is with muslims...
But not every girl follows them
Only those who have family pressures...
Many also do it to maintain their respect in the society
