Freedom of religion.
Even goddamn israel had caveats for religious rights.
If online schooling is a thing then surely online church can be a thing to
The virus doesn't care if it's church or nightclub, deary.
Exactly, so why are nightclubs open and churches closed?
Because nightclubs have AC units and air filters as well as distancing measures. Whereas church is just a lot of people mingling and talking.
No. Im sorry, I'm not putting someone's religious beliefs in a God they think exsist over the safety of other peope
So do you think it’s okay that all other business are open?
Those are businesses that need to be open. I'm not able to argue needing food and things like rhat over someone's need to "worship a God ". You can do that at home
Bars and malls are open. Personally, I don’t see those as necessities.
And did I say I saw them as necessity? No... so again my point stands
You said “those are businesses that need to be open”.
I'm not even about to continue this with you. The fact you wanna extend something to two places I never named is sad. Especially when your attempt at trying to make me seem hypothetical is very bad on your part
I said “all other businesses”. That includes everything, not only grocery stores.
Religion should be delegalized and banned worldwide. Closing the churches during pandemics is one of a few positive things.
Church isn't the place, it's the people!
I can go in my country
I would think so, yes.
The whole Covid response is wrong.
NO - people need to stay away from each other to avoid catching Covid. God will understand.
Everything else is open though.
so what? This isn't a contest.
@msc545 She kind of has a point, though.
@Jamie05rhs How so? Closing a few things or even one thing is better than closing nothing at all.
@msc545 It has to be evenly applied across the board, though.
@Jamie05rhs why? Nothing is evenly applied.
@msc545 What do you mean?
@Jamie05rhs I mean just what I said. Can you think of anything that is actually evenly applied? I cannot, seriously.
Okay- let me explain more specifically.
What this is about is fighting the pandemic. Fighting the spread of the coronavirus. To do that, you need to keep large groups of people from congregating in tight clusters. Agreed? Ok. So that's why large gatherings are banned.
But you don't outright ban certain gatherings just because they're religious (or nonreligious, for that matter.). You simply regulate them.
Does the building's fire code call for a limit of 250 people? Then you reduce it to 100. Will that offend some people by not allowing them to attend? Yes. But it's the right thing to do.
It doesn't matter what gathering it is. It could be a church. It could be a school. It could be a civic association. It could be a fraternity. It could be a Bingo club. It could be a nightclub; whatever.
(Actually, nightclubs can be shut down specifically because the very act of dancing inherently exposes people to the spread of the virus. Since bitches be all up on you and shit.)
@Jamie05rhs The thing is - while reducing the number of people in a space is a solution of sorts, it is not a very good one unless those people stay away from each other in that space, which they will not, of course. People don't do that. It would be better to have the event outside but even then there is a possibility of contagion. The best solution is simply no event.
@msc545 I somewhat agree with you, to be quite honest.
@Jamie05rhs ok...:)
They have services on tv you can do.
@Still-alive True. My mom watches church services on tv.
This whole Covid response is wrong if you ask me
Nope because there is a pandemic
Churches are closed but all other types of businesses are open.
Don't know where you live, but they're open here.
Very wrong.
They can do it remotely or outside so it’s ok
Churches are open where I live
yes.
thats what Webinars are for!
To me it’s fine
