Is it true that the bible says that the woman must obey and be submissive to the man? Does the bible say that women are inferior to men?

I never had a religion, I was never interested in religions and my parents didn't believe in anything. S
ome Christian friends introduced me to Christianity, I kind of liked it and found it interesting, but after studying a little more about religion, I discovered that the bible says that women should be submissive to men. I don't like it, and I won't be submissive to any man.

I decided not to become a Christian because of this.

Why does the bible say this?

This is why Bible commands to marry a Christian as ground rules are clear and mutually shared. Proverbs Wife is what a Christian male seeks. If one finds one of this sort, I would have no issue with shared resources. I could give them all to her…an Overseer knowing all will be well. If I get sick then Family is good if Proverbs 31:10-13 is secured.

Yes that is what the bible says, a woman is her father's property at birth and when the woman gets married she then becomes her husband's property. She must obey and be submissive to her husband just like she was to her father, if she doesn't obey her husband than she will be met with punishments like spanking or rights taken away. And yes women are inferior to men, a man is stronger, smarter, and faster than a woman so it's clear that men are superior over women, this stuff isn't sexist towards women it's just the way it is.

No, it does not say they are inferior. It says that someone needs to be the leader and since women have babies and men need to protect them both and is physically stronger, he is to be the leader.

It says that he is to love his wife as he does his own body.

Moral of that story: "When dating, look for a man that takes care of himself" ... because if you end up with a slob, you may be in trouble... lol

That was written specifically to born again saved men and women so the husband ought to lead the household in the ways of the lord and His word for His glory, not to women generally submitting to men.

And no the Bible doesn't teach men are superior to women, in fact it teaches the opposite as it teaches equity and fairness ought the way things be done.

There's no distinction in Christ wheather men or women. Those in Jesus Christ are one as it teaches.

I think every religious literature taught us peaceful way to live life it doesn't divide anything. It is we who can't understand it in true form and gets misunderstood.

You can not take one verse or one sentence from any book and look at it without looking at the context in which it was written. Women are to submissive to their husband as their husband is submissive to God. If their husband isn't submitting to God then do not submit to him. If he is not a godly man and you are a godly woman then never submit to him because he only has his own personal desires in mind. Not God's desire...

I'm not religious at all. But my take on the bible is that it says men should lead in relationships. And let's face it, that's what most women want anyway, isn't it? I mean, they want a strong, confident and capable man who will take control but treat them respectfully. That's all the bible is really saying.

The Bible is a book. Different religions interpret the words in different ways. I don’t believe it says women are inferior but some extreme religious groups do. You can interpret your own opinions on what the Bible says and means

No. That's just Paul's private opinion. And some of his letters -out of convenience for the ruling cast in catholicism back then- were included in the Bible.
