Would This Basically Summarize What Religions Are in Your View?

This is an outline of the term that I just improvised at the time in response to someone's question about whether or not Christianity is a religion (he seems to think it isn't one for some strange reason). Religions have the following in common:
a) They make claims that cannot be confirmed via any known methods, like the scientific method
b) There is a cast of central characters
c) A set of core doctrines
d) Followers of those doctrines
e) Rituals
Note that believing in God or the gods isn't necessarily a requirement, because there are religions where that isn't the case (ex. Buddhism), and nor is acceptance of an afterlife (Judaism).

I think religions have:
_ A set knowledge (summarized from you in "core doctrines" or beliefs)
_ An instrument to set them in time - space (ergo AC / DC, the bible, or the use of cities' names)
_ And a set of believers despite whatever is popular or even plural since as always is weird we agree in all the terms that are used.

I have seen a similar question before, and my answer at the time was that since there isn't and agreement in what it is, and is commonly consider as a set of cosmological beliefs, is even more unfactical to come to it, at least, a restrictive one.

I think it mostly meets all needed aspects. The reason many people argue christianity isn't a religion is rooted in its fundamental claim to come or be based on a direct revelation from God hence Jesus is God.
I would consider believing in some form of higher dimension as an important aspect because also Buddhism believes in some transcendental form of ending your life called nirvana.
Also Judaism has a such a place called scheol.

Nope. Your assertion is laughable. Also about 60% of the worlds religious believers are in the Abrahamic faiths. Taosim isn't really a faith either.

Also, Islam and Christianity should be swapped round in your chart. Christianity is a shrinking religion, whereas Islam is a growing one, by most modern census.

Christianity isn't really a religion in many regards in that it wasn't founded, followed or believed by its central character, or his direct family. It didn't exist until around 40 years after him.

Religions are about morals and conduct - not evidence and examination. You're ill-informed thinking science is any sort of yardstick. Science can only deal with the physical and quantifiable. Religion and God are outside it's purview. It's like asking a lawyer to do brain surgery, because you believe he is as educated as the brain surgeon.

Through a slow process of development over many centuries of time. One could argue the Ancient Greeks were the first to systematically study nature as is, without recourse to supernatural explanations, but it wasn't until the Middle Ages that people really began to try to figure out how everything worked. Laws of nature were formulated (ex. Kepler's Laws of Motion, Snell's Law), the mathematical formulae worked out, and by the time of Newton we were well on our way to leaving the superstitions of the past behind us.
