Do you agree with the statement: "when you put God first, all other things fall into their proper place"?

there is plenty of Christians in my area that put god first and above all... and that gets them killed (they refuse major medical care) and them and their families seemed truly convinced and believed this was just god's will so it is absolutely the right thing to do
I don't get it but it is their choice... I see their pain and all, they do suffer but at the end of the day, they still go to their church and preach the same thing... god first and above all and his will is all, nothing else changes that
I've seen one particular pastor who has two brothers die without getting medical care, within the same year, and about four years before that, their parents died similarly... only one sibling remains alive... he was not Chrisitian but he converted to the same pastor... and he is already determined to leave all his belongings to that church when he dies... and if the trend continues he might get sick soon and probably will refuse medical care as well
it just weird to me, but that is exactly what they preach... god first, god above all
God, yes, but when someone claims that they don't believe in God, I ask who they serve.
We all serve something, and to put others needs as important, always has a tendency to build good will, and strong relationships. 💪

They will fall by the sword; their little ones will be dashed to the ground, their pregnant women ripped open." (Hosea 13:4, 9, 16 New International Version)
"See, the day of the Lord is coming — a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger. . . . I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty. . . . Their infants will be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses will be looted and their wives violated." (Isaiah 13:9–16 NIV)
"And if ye will not for all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me; Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins. And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat." (Leviticus 26:27–29 King James Version)
"Moreover the Lord saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet: Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the Lord will discover their secret parts." (Isaiah 3:16–17 KJV)
"O daughter Babylon, you devastator! Happy shall they be who pay you back what you have done to us! Happy shall they be who take your little ones and dash them against the rock!"(Psalm 137:8–9 NRSV)
How many people in the Bible have been killed maimed and tortured because they believed in God?
Also didn't God flood like the entire world because of two cities? Sodom and Gomorrah? Like if it was really just for those two cities then why did he flood the entire planet? That's like burning down a forest to kill a squirrel.
I mean I could be wrong I'm not a Christian and I don't really read the Bible I have a different faith but still the Bible contradicts the statement.
Oh well
There is no proper place outside of god being first.
If your religious and jewish/catholic you have probably heard of job the guy who's life god ruined just to settle a bet.
you have no place in the grand scheme you are as the unmarked graves i piss on daily.
Your reason to live to serve a greater power may seem the right choice but you literally chase your own death hoping for glory and paradise when you die. I live to LIVE I want to feel my blood flowing when Im chasing someone. I want to feel ALIVE like nothing is above me and nothing can stop me.
I detached myself from wordly thoughts and desires and found nirvana when i came back down i realized the truth in nirvana isn't inner peace it isn't an answer to all creation. Its finding peace with who you are and how you lived
Yes, if you keep your spiritual relationship with God.-This involves an awareness and walk-talk dynamic during day... with a concerted effot to "turn away from"(repent). I know when I'm right with God or He is using me to do something... If you obey, you will be blessed and disobey will be cursed...-Either way, one can tell when He is at work.. if In Christ Jesus,
Actually, I disagree with disobey and be cursed. If you're meaning God curses then you're wrong according to the bible. Ill find it later. Satin is the one who gets in peoples heads and has them do things. Thats why John The Baptist got his head chopped
I’m never wrong…Don’t you know that 🙃🙃. Blessing/Curse runs through whole Bible in Mosaic Law and Messiah. Mosaic Law identifies man’s fallen nature and inability to meet the Holy Righteousness of God, therefore, we are Cursed. Jesus the Messiah is Blessing that cures man’s cursed nature.
-Deuteronomy 28:1-68…v1. And if you faithfully obey the voice of the LORD your God, being careful to do his commandments that I command you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all nations. And all these blessings shall come upon and overtake you…
-v15 But if you will NOT obey the voice of the LORD your God or be careful to do all the commandments and statues that I command you today, then all these CURSES shall be upon you and overtake you. Cursed shall you be in City, Field, Offspring, Womb,…. Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out.
—Deuteronomy 30:19: I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live.
-For all those who rely on the works of the law are under a curse; for it is written. “Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them (Galatians 3:10).”
-If you love me, you will keep my commandments (John14:15).
-Genesis 4:1-26 is all about Blessing and Cursed.
Yeah but Genesis is before God had Jesus to come down and it was also when God prom8sed he wouldn't flood the land. Please understand im not trying to argue, im trying to see where you're comin from
I'm not arguing either as most of what i have written is scripture: In the Beginning, God which entails Father, Word, and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1). No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His servants will worship Him (Revelation 22:3).
Aight ill drop it. Thanks for explaining
I definitely believe this because I've experienced it in my life practically. Any time I consulted with God on issues going on in my life, things always turned out for the better, and even when it didn't seem like things were going right, when I looked back, I could see that God was actually keeping me from things that weren't good for me.
The opposite is also true. And I don't intend on going down that path again. Lol
I think it would be more accurate to say that if we place God first, we just get better at prioritizing and offering. We see how things like our families, our jobs, and so forth are directed towards the glory of God and the sufferings and inconveniences we face become more bearable.
God give mankind free-will. But there are times when evil takes advantage of it and this result in bad things happening on earth. And God make human beings see the results of their evil ways. I haven't read the entire bible but base on what I see happening these days, I think that this world needs to put God first.
It's actually the opposite if you actually put God first.
Living for God and obeying God's word as it ought to be obey is very difficult and challenging and tend to suffer spiritual attacks the most.
The apostle Paul is a perfect example as well as John the Baptist who had his head cut off standing up for what's right before God.
I do! I’m some times pretty bad at it… but God is good!
No not at all.
not an atheist but I know that the statement does not work.
did not work for one lot of people …Gott mit uns
Ref update 😂
Oh I am just waiting for you sitting on sidelines being noncommittal hehe
If you find the belief in god comforting and lowing your stress, then sure.

@snsl153
I see faith as a way to cope with life when it doesn't make sense; when someone is at their end and have no where to go, they turn to what they believe in even though we don't have proof that God or an deity is real.
@Snsl153
Then having faith in God maybe the right move for you.
@Snsl153
You post quite a bit of Bible verses though, I'm so confuse lol.
Anyway, I find your point of view interesting, nothing malicious, just interesting; because I believe and think so differently that we may clash a bit, but I'm not here to make anyone uncomfortable.
Everyone finds their own path in life with beliefs that suits them best, as long as you're making steps toward your goals you're doing just fine. You got this.
Technically you have no choice in the matter.
It's just a case of are you doing it out of intent, habit or ignorance.
I don't think this is true at all. I am not an atheist but rather an agnostic but still those things put aside, religion does not work for most people. If it did we would not be having the trouble we have these days.
the person must look up at the glass above us
and really ask GOD CHRIST
what is going on
he will answer
and your job is to search out the matter

I don't know what falling into place means. I've seen good people get murdered, does that count as falling into place?
I strongly do thst is what the cross represent. The vertical axis is that we seek him first and the horizontal axis is that everything will be drawn unto you.
Yupp something similar most of us don't know purpose of our life there is a hindi saying karm kiye ja phal ki chinta mat kar, keep doing good deeds, don't worry about outcome
Well according to 'God's Word", Eph 2:8-9. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 'not a result of works', so that 'no one' may boast. Salvation and eternal life with Him is a gift because, one repents (has remorse) of their sin, asks for the forgiveness of God. We then are forgiven because we believe and accept the act of Jesus Christ (the Perfect Sacrifice of God - His Son Jesus). Only a 'perfect' sacrifice was acceptable, His shedding His blood and dying upon the cross, for anyone who would believe in Him. Nothing, NOTHING we could ever do would be acceptable to God because of our sinful nature. BUT believing and accepting Jesus Christ as 'the Son of God' and what He did for us, then repenting of 'our' sins -- we are forgiven and the BLOOD OF JESUS, now covers us and we now, being covered in the Blood of Jesus by Faith, we now have favor in the site of God. Made Righteous by the Blood of Jesus. God now sees, not us/our sin BUT the Rigteous, Holy, Pure Blood of Jesus. 'The Perfect Sacrifice'.
I always say that when your workouts are going good, everything else falls into place.
Nope. That's a unhealthy attitude even for someone religious.
Yes, I do, because it's true.
It makes sense to me. I grew up religious
