Almost every regime in history that propped up one religion over the other by law has limited the freedoms of every other religious group. In order to truly have freedom of religion the government needs to be neutral to all religions.
Here's the three major reasons why the United States was founded
#1 tax evasion
#2 freedom of religion or separation of church and state
#3 the English royal family of the time kind of sucked
Also religion is dying out in the United States fewer and fewer people are believing in God so putting religion in the government would likely result in a civil war even if you could put religion into the United States laws

American law should not be influenced directly by the bible, but it definitely should be guided by right and wrong, so there should be a lot of consistency between our laws and what is taught in the bible.

Ideally all the moral laws since God's laws moral are perfect, but America isn't a theocracy nor does the U. S. A. constitution allows to make laws according to religion laws to govern a nation.
