How do you view people who use religion and non religion as an excuse to hate others?

My stalker accused me of being a bad Christian for saying I don’t care about banning abortions and compared me to a murderer and impostor who fakes religion but how many people who hate abortion care about the people in poor countries that are starving to death?

You could save a family for $100 a month and less than 2% of charity dollars in America goes towards foreign countries, so these people let people in the South and the East starve for the price of coffee but then want to pretend they value human life by banning abortions, when they would never agree to adopt the children the parents want to abort or donate a single penny to the poor.

It’s just an excuse to hate and vilify others so they can feel superior, I used to know a guy who would always complain about gay people but he would cheat on his girlfriend with strangers every month, religion was created to promote love, not for creating excuses to hate others.

Well honestly and good Christian (which I am not) would know any such judgments can only be made by God. It is not their place as Christians to place judgement on other people. I never like anyone you pushes their beliefs on other people... and I like to think that real and true Christians do not do that. My parents never did, that is for sure... and if they were not good Christians then they were definitely God fearing people. Which is something I never understood that saying, "good God fearing people". Why would one fear God if they were good people?

Any way I think you are not talking about good Christians, your referring more to religious zealots.

If you actually take the time to do research on the Bible you will find that it is very self-contradictory... I don't say this to discredit it, but to point out that most people don't open the Bible looking for answers, but instead confirmation.

I can make biblical arguments in support of homosexuality, I can make biblical arguments for the big bang and evolution, I can even point out where in the Bible it's pro-abortion... Not pro-choice, pro-abortion, where abortion is what the Bible REQUIRES.

People use the Bible to support their worst tendencies, to justify their hatred of others. This is generally initiated by preacher's. Leading by fear and hate is the mark of a weak leader as getting people worked up or "on fire for Jesus" is far easier if you get someone to hate something. It's a age old truth that it is easier to hate than to love.

Why do they need people "fired up for Jesus"? Money. The more people they can draw, and the hotter they can get them, the more they tithe. And the scariest thing about that is if you think about the statistical probability of someone being unhinged, we will say 1% of an audience that is looking for answers... And then you figure how many of those are actually Looney tunes enough to do something violent, we will say 1% again, putting us at 0.01%...

That's not much until you figure how many followers some of these hateful preachers have, one who runs a megachurch in Tennessee comes to mind who has 2.2 MILLION followers on FB, if less than half of them, 1M, follow his sermons, the he has 100 willing to cause violence and harm to others in the name of God because he told them certain people are evil. Our gun laws are not well enforced, 25% of them can get their hands on a weapon... Luckily many living that life don't have the financial ability to do anything, but it only takes one or two...

The question for those pastors who's words are words of hate, and hate begets violence, is when the inevitable happens, how much is a life, a child of God, worth?

TO ANSWER IN SHORT FORM I view them as amoral and greedy.

Thank you, Jennifer, and I agree. I think people like your stalker just use this as an opportunity to claim some kind of moral high ground. I've noticed people like this are often mean-spirited and lack empathy. I am a non-denominational Christian because I haven't found a permanent church community yet but I was always raised not to judge others, particularly women who do this because we couldn'tpossiblye know what is going through when they make this choice. After the recent supreme court decision, I googled to see what the different church organizations were saying. There was plenty that celebrated the decision but there were others that were disappointed in decision.

I thought the statement from the evangelical Lutheran bishop said it best https://www.elca.org/News-and-Events/8158 I have also seen other statements by other Christian denominations, the Jewish community and even the Muslim community in the U. S. talk about the nuances of some of these decisions and they were not celebrating the loss of procedure legality that will result. If people want to do a google search for these statement, I noticed these types of statements by the Episcopal Church, United Churches of Christ, the Presbyterianan Church, the Methodist Church, etc.

I agree. Some people used religion to accomplish their own selfish agenda. If your stalker continues to be such an asshole, report him to the police and get a protection order.

While I'm pro-life in general, I'm also skeptical of the abortion laws. Forcing a woman to give birth to a child that she does not want to have in the first place is not gonna make her a better mother. There is a lot of emphasis on abortion bans and how abortion is bad etc., but nothing much is being said about the care for the unwilling mother and the unwanted newborn.

Is the mother going to receive the needed psychological care and support after going through a traumatic and unwilling birth? Will there be sufficient resources, foster homes or adoptees that could care for the unwanted babies? Does the child protective service have enough resources or manpower to manage the ever increasing number of child abuse and neglect?

The problem here lies continuing push to where people are not being responsible for their actions... It leads, well I wasn't ready to have a baby, that guy last night was a mistake, but we used protection, etc. so ill just have an abortion. Same thing with foster homes, one is before birth and the other after. If your doing something that has can have consequences then you should be acceptance of the outcome. People that commit crimes, make bad financial choices or anything else they didn't want happening due to their actionsdont have choice to just reverse their situation... In cases of forced sex and whether or not to preserve ones own life, absolutely they should have that choice... Then should men have the same choice if they didn't want a child but the women decided to keep the baby and demands the father to be the involved? With a womans right to choice for any reason should then the right for a man to say I never wanted the child (whether she told him before or after birth) and have no legal obligation to that child or mother. Thats only fair right.

Religion was/is solely for the purpose of society to follow "natural" law to what is right/wrong to beliefs and situations we encounter. Fear of the unknown is used to follow in reward of avoided persecution. It not wrong to use religion as per means of hate, our beliefs come from some where so using or not using religion are of the same spectrum. If you love then there will be hate as well... Without God there is no Devil... Would these people using these reasons to hate child exploitation as being abusers as well? Should we not hate the people found responsible of exploitations, whether them or the action itself not be hated? The your stalker isn't exactly a stalker if your out here asking questions to if his views and reasoning to a subject thats not a threat to you, means your allowing him to close in your life and you prolly enjoy the attention.

A mental and psychological illness is when one causes discomforts and abuses towards self and/or others. Abuse is anything that is unpleasant and uncomfortable. A mental and psychological illness can range from short durations , similar to that of a passing thought , to the extents and lengths of long durations , similar to that of an ideology or a philosophy. If it is a thought it can be cured quickly with another thought , but if it is as long as a philosophy then we have to analyze a persons personal preferences and go over one by one until we establish where a being has concluded on a topic to the extent of prefering someone to be abused as a necessity to any situation.
