Can my employer force me to work on a Sunday when I told her from day 1 I refuse to work on a Sunday and she stilled hired me?

I told her I'm religious and I refuse to work on a Sunday. In my religion, which is stricter than other Christian religions, it's a huge sin to work on a Sunday. Though the times she has me set up to work are in the evening, I won't miss church but a sabbath day is a day of rest. I'm not supposed to be doing any work on Sunday. I'm fine working any other day, however she's been scheduling me to work the weekends (i. e barely giving me any hours to work because she hired too many people and there aren't enough hours). And she schedules me to work the day I told her I strongly refuse to work. She told me no one wants to work Sundays and I have to make a sacrifice. I was wondering if what she is doing is against the law or something I can get out of. Because after I told her I can't work Sunday because of my religion she said, "If you aren't working Sunday then you are fired."
