How do people who believe in soulmates explain age gaps?

OK so this should be obvious but people are born at different times. With that in mind how do people who believe in soulmates explain age gaps? Do they think the souls are made at the same time, but sent out a different times? Do they believe one gets made and another gets made because why not have two? If they believe in reincarnation what happens if theirs like a 30 year age gap between the two?
Is their a limit to the age gap for soulmates or can they be born like 100 years separate?

A soulmate is someone that we have a deep feeling of affinity and connection to. It has nothing to do with age.
