@Subglacial Pretty much. Though you’re off by a few centuries. Marriage is a religious ceremony, not a civil one. So I find it ridiculous when people try to blame religious people for the very decline in institutions that they insisted in creating.

Missed the point entirely. Modern liberals didn't introduce divorce to Protestantism, Protestants did that. And they didn't do it by separating church and state, they did the complete opposite: give the king (the state) authority over church matters.

You just took three unrelated things that you think are bad and assumed they were connected.
