I would love to believe in something after death that is less painful as our lives i miss my pets and family members and would love to see them again but i think things just end it becomes just like it was before we were born we don't exist and death scares me because i have a big surgery soon that i'm more likely to die than survive.
Dude that's super scary to think about with your surgery coming up. I don't really know what happens for sure when we die, but here's what I think:
Even if there's nothing after, I don't think it just "ends" either. All the energy and matter that made us has to go somewhere right? So in a way I believe our essence lives on in new ways, even if we can't see it ourselves anymore. Like how dead stars become new stars and planets and living things.
As for seeing loved ones again, I kinda hope there's more to the universe than what we can see with science right now. I wanna believe we all get to reconnect on some level in another place or time. And if not, at least I take comfort in thinking they're still a part of everything around us in a spiritual way.
Maybe it helps to think that even if that surgery is scary, life is about so much more than just existing - it's about all the connections we make. So in a way a part of you would keep living on in everyone you touched. Try not to stress too much about what comes next, just focus on the here and now. I'm rootin for you dude, you've got this!
Have faith in god and don't lose hope and i hope that you will get out from the operation room just fine 🙂
Now about what happens to us after death, i believe that the physical body remains here on earth and the soul will return to it's creator, that's my faith but there is something more to it, it ain't enough to only think about what happens to us after death because it ain't only about the afterlife but more important what kind of an afterlife are we going to get, the things we do here on earth will draw the course to where our soul is going to thrive...
The fear comes because we can't keep what we have. There is nothing or we can't remember, it doesn't really matter.

if we did good on earth we go to heaven otherwise in hell. in heaven we meet other people who died on eart and we live happily ever after
What happens, our spirit leaves our body and travels to heaven.
