What percentage of people are actively religious?

I know in America we are something like 65% Christian but only 30% attend church service at least once a month.

Also I find it funny when someone wears a cross but cusses and acts like a degenerate.

It seems the majority of people only identify with a religion because it is part of their family identification and culture but they don’t really believe it all.

Not to say these people are really atheists but not fundamentalists.

I really don’t like super fundamentalist types because they are mostly nasty people who hate everyone outside their religion and will try to force their narrow view of god on others.

I would say over 80% have at least a low grade level of religion but maybe only 5% are knowledgeable about what they believe. Surprising in a Jewish survey, almost 90% of those who listen to the religion podcast said they feel God’s presence 24/7. This level of commitment is lower among Christians.

actively religious, in u. s. probably very few. i few jews fast on their days and a few muslims in u. s. same. around the world much more religious people doing ceremmony in catholic and islam etc.
if a religion has ceremony then the lack of ceremony is a problem but if a religion is only ten sacraments or just faith then not actively religious is not a problem if they have the main parts.
attendance of church is not like "school you must have good attendance" rate, they even specify the "building" is "not important can meet as a group in homes" which i think might be better.
about wearing a cross you remind me of the film fast and furious where the criminal wears this big cross so people won't suspect him, as part of the cover so yeh some people are like that... but cussing is not a sin not real blasphemy so some choose to talk cleaner and some don''t care about social etiquette.

I'm studying with Jehovah Witnesses atm, not sure where it will lead but it's very interesting to me, I totally agree that there are some very nasty people in charge of churches, but also some wonderful people caught up in false religions, which of course is any religion that I don't prescribe to lol,,,

@strateguy632 Indeed sir! well said, a lot of the literature does not relate to the Bible at all, the edict on smoking eg, not mentioned at all!, but then that's proof that the Bible was written before tobacco was discovered of course!. Also the recent study guides say "don't chew coca leaf" BUT it's an essential guide to health and survival if you live in the Andes. To me coca leaf was therefore Jehovah's Gods own creation to help you stay fit and healthy!,,,

In my family we are pretty odd.

My mom is a pagan.

My step dad believes in a god but not the bible.

My Brother and Sister are christians but they cuss and act like degenerates. (Never attends church)

My youngest brother is a atheist.

My aunt on my mom side is super fundamentalist mormon while I have an Uncle who is a catholic. (attends church every week)

Then there is me and my partner who are Agnostics.

I am not religious. My great grandfather often invited friends of every religion to our village house, he hosted Muslims, Jews, Catholics and Orthodox Christians with the same love.

He always told me, there is one God, we just call them different names.

I don’t believe in religions but I am agnostic, meaning I can’t claim whether God exists or not, I only suspect it doesn’t.
