I respect it, but it's ridiculous to worship a person, isn't it?

Except that Jesus wasn't really person. He was essentially the human embodiment of God that's why the Bible refers to Jesus as his son. He lived a sinless life which is why those that believe he died for our sins (he was the lamb, the sacrifice) so we can get to heaven. I try not get caught up in X's and O's so to speak of Christianity. Yes I know this is how you go to heaven. But the point is once you've heard the word of God it supposed to change you. You can't not know God anymore. Which means you are compelled through the love of God to do God's will. You can't go back to your sinful life To me that's what's truly important in Christianity. Jesus is asked in Matthew 22: 37-39 what is the most important commandments. And he says "Love the lord God, with all your heart, soul, and mind, and love your neighbors as yourself". And I think this sums up the true spirit of Christianity. Love God, and love eachother. What possible bad can come from that.
