St Nicholas is a very common church name in the UK with 500 in England alone bearing the name (only 40 in America according to google)
But how many people pass these churches every day or even pray in them and not make the connection? Thoughts.

No, the Church of St. Nicholas is not the Church of Santa, but the life of St. Nicholas inspired the legend of Santa Claus:
St. Nicholas
The 4th century Greek bishop whose life inspired the legend of Santa Claus. St. Nicholas was known for his generosity and charity, and his feast day was celebrated on December 6.
Santa Claus
The mythical character that emerged from the merging of St. Nicholas's legend with other figures, including the English character Father Christmas. The Dutch introduced the character Sinterklaas, which was later translated to Santa Claus in English. The image of Santa Claus in the United States crystallized in the 19th century.
The Church of St. Nicholas in Dmere, Turkey, may be the burial site of St. Nicholas. Excavations at the church uncovered a limestone sarcophagus that is believed to be the saint's original resting place. The sarcophagus is located in the church's two-story annex and is consistent with the burial styles of the region.
I used to go to a St. Nicholas church growing up (however spottily, haha), and they definitely made the Santa connection for us kids in Sunday School. I remember someone made a big quilt that depicted a scene of St. Nick in a boat passing gifts out to kids.
I’ve since moved on to St. Brick☃️

Santa, as we elves know, is no saintly figure, but rather a sadistic overlord, and the idea of him residing in a house of worship is as absurd as Rudolph flying through the sky without his glowing red nose. He's a sadistic bastard, especially at Christmas, who eats more kid-sized ass than Michael Jackson.
Fun fact: Rudloph's nose is actually red from smelling assholes that are stuffed with candy canes.
I'm not sure St Nick and St Nichokas are the same thing.
I wonder when one of the St Nicholss churches will claim it's Santa's Church, and have reindeer and sleigh out front during Christmas, instead of a manger scene.
I think it is. Here is a rather dry read with weird pictures about his story. In essence, he funneled some gold to a dad so the dad’s ugly daughters didn’t have to become hookers. It’s inspiring in a way… not one to tell the kiddies though.

Unfortunately not. There's one in Turkey and another one in Bari Italy. Both of which have held his remains.
A mix of folklore from certain countries and the Saint. Certain west European countries changed and adapted his image for Christmas and appealing to children.
That's EXACTLY what Krampus wants you to keep on thinking! Don't be a fool! Krampus is always on the lookout for you so you should be on the lookout for him!!
Yes St Nicholas is Santa Claus
Yes, it even had an extra large chimney.
Yes. I’ve seen him there.
As a jew, I wouldn't know
