Why can't Catholics do a miracle and make pope Francis healthy again?

For a few reasons.

1 - Catholics don't "work miracles". It's not our place to do so, let alone ask God for the power to. Why? Because even if it did happen, we simply don't know for sure where or from whom that power would be coming. Besides, in the past, whenever someone (who would typically later be canonized a saint) did receive such a grace, they often didn't want it.

2 - Even with all that said, the central mission of the Catholic Church is to save souls and not so much revive bodies. Pope Francis is, as of this posting, 88 years old. He has lived longer than most other people in the modern era. Whether it's today, tomorrow, next week, or a year from now, it's his time.

And 3 - I realize that this might sound perverse and scandalous to many people, but it must be said. Many Catholics are frustrated with, exhausted with, and ready to move on from Pope Francis. We're tired of confusing statements and documents that at the very least appear or sound contrary to the Catholic Faith. The College of Cardinals and those who work in Rome are tired of his chaotic and micromanaging style of "leadership".

We're tired of his, the "Pope of Mercy", particular brand of mercy and compassion that is so merciful and compassionate that he rarely, if ever misses an opportunity to viciously and condescendingly berate faithful and orthodox Catholics, particularly those who attend the Traditional Latin Mass and are politically conservative. He's more a left-wing talking head than he is a shepherd of souls, or again, at least so it seems. In fact, he's so merciful and compassionate that he also rarely misses a chance to revive a sexual predators's career and promote them to positions of power and influence (them or their enablers and cheerleaders).

We're not wishing, hoping, or praying for a slow and painful death or anything. And we are certainly not hoping he goes to Hell (or we ought not to). We're just exhausted and ready for a new pope. Hopefully one who is friendly to tradition and won't be as tepid and ambiguous on key Church teachings.

there's no such thing as god. All religious people can come up with is excuses. Just like when you were a kid and you had loads of questions about Santa; How come I never heard him or the reindeer on the roof when I stayed awake all night? If I just sat on his lap in the mall 10:00 ago, who's this guy ringing the bell over here in front of this store?

But, if there WAS a god, he never WOULD'VE been shot at!! If there WAS a god, and if prayers actually worked, all those people that died on Sept. 11th would still be alive.

So, why bother praying? Most of the world prayed for no one to be killed on Sept. 11th but about 3000 did! Obviously, prayer doesn't do anything. It's no better than wishing on a wishbone.

Why would we? He served his role on Earth. And Christianity teaches you that Earth life is just a stage, and life in Heaven is better than on Earth.
