I am thinking there are multiple possibilities:
One, is that they are just as committed to religious values as religious people, but they use the word “conscience” or “dignity” to define those values instead of the word “bible” or “temple.”
Another could be they have a stronger sense of pride and every day citizen avoidance because they have better skills and abilities. Meaning, their social status makes them more discriminatorily exclusionary and behaviourally prideful which competes with natural religious sentiments.
A third possibility is they do less emotional reflection and psychological warfare because the gap between their goals and their abilities is smaller. This lack of expressive personal need, might weaken their religious drive.
