I know this is not how the law works, but for this fun activity let's pretend it is.

Ok, so this was a fun activity we once did in my psychology class.

You play a detective. A woman (ms. A) walks in and tells you, that a person (mr. B) Has been harrassing them by text message and would like to file a restraining order. You decide if the restraining order is accurate or not.

Ms. A: shows evidence of over 200 hundred messages complaining about her actions, and even after over 10 times of Ms. A asking Mr. B to stop harrassing and contacting her, he does not stop messaging her and spins it as having a discussion.

Mr. B. Suspecting you are investigating him for harrassment comes to you. Tries to spin the story that it was 2 friends having a disagreement. He goes on a very long winded overly detailed information about what happened. And it does not seem the same as what evidence you saw.

You make your decision to send the restraining order to the judge.(yes i know this isn't how the law works, but for this exercise it does)

MR. B: disappointed in the decision and has your number sends you over 125 messages telling you that you are wrong, and then when you say you are not changing your decision. Sends 75 messages trying to convince you that you are hurting his wife, and making her sick. You then say. "I believe in my heart i am right. Could I be wrong? Possibly. But to much evidence proves you to be guilty. So in my heart i believe you are guilty and will continue."

MS. A. Tells you she is still a victim as they wait for the court hearing. She sends you 75 of the 200 messages. Where he blames her for the detective's choice. Mr. B then accuses you the detective of being one sided and only listening to her. Then you see Mr. B has now lied about what you said. He took your words and twisted them. He claimed you said. "I am most likely wrong, and don't care that I'm wrong, and I am choosing to side with Ms. A"

So last night I met up with boyfriend, we were supposed to spend the night & Saturday morning / evening together.

Unfortunately my brother (paramedic) got called into work & he was supposed to help our father with an appointment on Saturday morning. Dad is disabled so us kids take turns on who goes with him to appointments as we're both in the medical profession.

I told my boyfriend this & apologized a number of times for the short notice. I told him you know I'd have to not stay the night but we can continue on with the rest of the plan for Saturday.

Anyway come the morning he's left where he was (he comes from another city, was at a hotel). He didn't even bother telling me he was leaving or saying goodbye. I only learnt about it by asking what was he doing & a text back of "driving".

He said he was annoyed & had woken up at 4am with "nothing to do", etc. Honestly, in all the back & forth, it seems all he cares for is the sex (why else leave)

Yes I get it but honestly it was a minor situation on my side. It's not like I waited until he was asleep after having sex & walked out on him... he knew why I left and had been okay with it that evening (he'd agreed to Saturday).

I won't be involved with him much beyond this. I am not someone who takes kindly to emotional manipulation / abuse which, in many ways, his antics are.

2 months ago, we went out to dinner and talked for 3 hrs on first meet up. We were in contact via Instagram messages. Then we talked on the phone to buy tickets & see the Spider-Man movie. The day before movie I asked if he could stop sending those IG video reels politely, it was a bit overboard. On day of movie, he said good morning and I replied with a wave emoji. He normally would continue the conversation via Instagram but doesn’t message again until he said he was waiting at the theater. I was not as bubbly as I was on first meet up , I was very quiet (not against him). He was annoying me during the movie, he’s the type to laugh and make noises when something exciting came on. He nudged me during the movie and asked if I was ok because I was quiet and I said yes. At the end I told him thanks, he said you’re welcome and he said drive safe. When I spoke with him on phone day before movie, he told me that he talked about me with his friends but after movie he sent a message just now saying that he wasn’t really feeling it from me and it’s not going to work for him. I was more upset that he beat me to rejecting him, I would have done it if he didn’t. Flash fwd to a month ago, he sends me a dm with an inside joke, I just left him on read again. He continues to follow me on social media but unmatched with me from the dating app we met through, I unfollowed him from IG.
